Hmm... I don't know why the first picture for Sunrise is a photo of a cake from neighbourhood Lennarts Konditori :/ IMHO, Sunrise has many remarkable things to boast. First, it's very clean. Buffet, griddles and all what I've seen is constantly cleaned by the staff. Crystal chandeliers are shining so that the autumn evening behind the mirror looks like a mere illusion...The interior recalls my memories of luxury restaurants in China. Not the Swedish style indeed, but so lovely! The place is very popular, but the staff works very promptly. We took Mongolian barbecue: it means that we are served with the snack and after that go and choose the products to be cooked for us on a griddle. I was happy to see raw shrimps and squid, my husband enjoyed the shells. There was also chicken, pork, beef and lamb, and many raw vegetables, noodles, rice and 12 sauces to choose from. Beef and lamb were of a very good quality. There were two cooks working with the griddles, and honestly, I liked the cooking style of one of them more: he made it so that the seafood and meat is very-very tender. Though I could ask another to cook it in the same manner, probably... I'd say that Mongolian barbecue is a good option if your child accompanies you to the restaurant with Eastern cuisine. If you, your friend or your relative demonstrates a behaviour of a paranoid parent (I don't, but I know those who do, and a lot), it's a place to go: the suspicious parent can choose all the ingredients and see the process of cooking, even give recommendations to the cook :) My little child was delighted! She could choose the food, and get a soft ice-cream directly from the big mysterious ice-cream machine, extracted by her father. Let's be honest: it's cool to try operating a real ice-cream machine at any age :) My only little disappointment: no "real" tea in the teapots.

If you like to have coffee and cakes in Swedish classical "konditori", that's a place for you in Eksjö. The first thing my husband asked when we entered: "Is it mentioned in Kindbloms "KondisBoken"? It's not, but it could have been, really. There you'll find all the necessary attributes: old leather furniture, paintings on the walls and regular customers who come there for decades. Lennarts Konditori opened in 1947. It is situated on the main square, next to the church, and is one of the most remarkable places in the town. I really liked strong, rich coffee and profiterole-like pastries with whipped cream and raspberry filling. The choice of cookies, "småkakor" is really impressive! There were about 20 different types, and all we've tried were delicious, fresh and flawless from technical point of view. I can't really say that I like their sandwiches, though it's typical for most of cafes of that style: expensive, too much bread, few vegetables, the taste is a bit dull. There is another thing which makes me angry: everyone, visitors included, has to pay 1 crown for the toilet, because "there are strangers who contaminate our toilet". I have absolutely no idea how my search for a 1-crown coin may save their toilet from being severely contaminated by unknown ruthless strangers... Spoils the impression, really. Spoils the mood. Not welcoming. Though next time I won't be surprised. Are the småkakor and coffee worth the toilet inconvenience? My answer is yes, though it would be better without...

Very tasty food at the Peking restaurant, nice Terrace facing the creek. I'd recommend this place, but be careful when placing your order - there was only Chinese staff and one lady spoke some Swedish but no English, another one spoke little English and no Swedish. Our order got mixed up due to language problems, so next time I'll confirm things more carefully.

Un intérieur très design, des plats suédois exquis et des patisseries divines .
Le rêve pour les gourmands que nous sommes .
Seul inconvénient : ce café ferme en soirée à partir de 18h

One of the better places for lunch or dinner in the area; good restaurants are scarce in the region, hence competition thin. Ullinge are trying a little clumsily to spread the flavor of the gastronomic league, but don't manage. The food is okay, the service is okay, price quality ratio good overall. Some nice bottles of wine on the menu. Our bootle of French white assemblage by the glass had been open for too many days. The red Rioja by the glass very nice. Veal steak well cooked, tasty Béarnaise. Pike perch good. Hamburger good. The setting overlooking the lake is worth the detour; very nice Seating on the Terrace or at the tables near the window. I can recommend if you are looking for a restaurant in the area, otherwise don't take the drive.

The serve European dishes, meat and fries. And some Thai dishes as well. We had dinner in an empty restarant, good service. The food was OK but nothing more. The kitchen didn't manege to serve the five if us at the same time, it was 5 min between the first and the last.
In Eksjö in October this is not a bad choice.
