We've visited here a few times on our trips to Newquay. We love it! Food is always tasty and piping hot. We've tried cod, cod bites, sausages and of course the chips - all taste beautiful! Classic chippy!

Hopefully our evening here was a one off as having eaten here numerous times before and been very happy, this visit was simply disappointing.
We booked a table through this site for an evening meal. When we arrived the waitress said that they no longer use this booking route. However she said did find us a table.
When we ordered our food we were told that they had ran out of the meat dish one of us ordered. This was disappointing as it was not late.
The linguine was very average and the mushrooms on toast was a poor substitute for lamb but both meals were pretty average for such a usually good restaurant.
After asking twice for pepper and it not being forthcoming we gave up on waiting and just got on with our meals. The waitress (who to be fair was working alone) was not the most attentive.
We would have liked to have stayed and relaxed with further drinks but the whole place felt unloved, tired, and jaded. Little attention from staff and lack of interest in the atmosphere made us simply want to eat and leave.
For a top hotel which is not cheap to stay at I am glad we are locals and can choose to eat elsewhere.

Traditional Fish and Chip Shop Take - Away with convenience Seating area. Local Delivery Available. Telephone orders welcome. Daily Specials.
Very busy which says a lot. Staff very friendly and service quick. The fish was lovely..but the batter disappointing. Not crispy enough. Portion size good in fact one portion of chips would have been enough between two. After Reading all the excellent reviews..was a bit let down. Had better.

We visited Paulines for a Cornish cream tea on a quiet afternoon. There were only three other tables occupied when we arrived. Having sat down and looked at the menu we waited to be served and waited and waited. After 10 minutes we thought they do not like us so we left.
I write a number of trip advisor reviews and the majority tend to be good. However I don’t have any alternative but to rate this place absolutely awful. Do not go unless you have hours to spare

We've been meaning to write this review for a long time! We (luckily...not for our waistline) live around the corner from The Anvil. For over a year now we have enjoyed many a meal here. We have literally NEVER had even a mediocre meal. Every time I eat there I am blown away by the quality of food. The specials board is our usual go to and never fails to deliver. Matt & Nicole are absolute gems and we are always made to feel welcome. Even in the busy period through summer we were always accommodated with our children, even when just turning up and winging it. These guys are doing an exceptional job and I truly recommend this place to everyone! It is a must must must when you're in Cornwall! Thanks again to Matt, Nicole and the lovely staff

We visited last Saturday as I had taken my boyfriend to Newquay for his birthday and I had visited Little Kahuna a couple of times years ago when it was in its smaller location and I loved it back then. We ordered the mixed sharing starter, seafood laksa and chicken Singapore noodles and shared a fried ice cream for dessert. The mixed starters are to die for and I recommend them so much if you visit, my other half said they were the best starters he’d ever had! Then came the mains. The portion size of the mains are absolutely massive, which is great if you are only wanting a main but with the large starters too we could not finish the mains. I loved me seafood laksa it was spicy and creamy and had beautiful seafood, my boyfriend however was very disappointed with his Singapore noodles and found them so dry to eat that I had to spoon him some of more laksa sauce to make it palatable. This may just be his taste and maybe he should have ordered something different. We were so full from the massive mains that we shared a fried ice cream, which was divine and rich and chocolately. We really didn’t like the service here, we were served by a young girl who was wearing trainers which I think would be ok in a day time cafe but something a little smarter would have been more appropriate attire for a Saturday evening service. She took our orders and each course she did not return for a table check and only asked us if the food was ok when we had finished each course. She was unable to offer advice on the new cocktail menu and had to ask for assistance which I think if you are launching a new cocktail menu, all your staff should be fully trained. We also had to call her over twice for more drinks as she hadn’t even noticed our glasses were empty when she collected our plates. I also didn’t like that she was constantly calling us “guys” and commenced to call me “sweet” multiple times when I was paying the bill. It was all too informal and not service that was appreciated. I understand we were in Newquay which is a surfers haven and I guess she thought that was the kind of service that suited? I don’t expect to be called madam or have airs and graces but I think tailor your service to your customers. We would come again if in Newquay but hope the service would be a little more attentive and professional

Stopped for cream tea after Reading the good reviews on TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed. Reasonably priced and right on the high street near central bar. We sat outside as the weather was beautiful. Owners were friendly and everything home baked from what I could see. Really cute little tea room. Would return.

My sister and I found this great little cafe hidden away in the middle of Crantock and had a very nice late lunch. The cream cheese and smoked salmon salad I had was delicious and the gluten free salad my sister had was also very good. Good coffee. Set in a lovely courtyard with birds, trees and flowers.
