Cottbus (German pronunciation: [ˈkɔtbʊs] ( listen); Lower Sorbian: Chóśebuz [ˈxɨɕɛbus]) is a university city and the second-largest city in Brandenburg, Germany. Situated around 125 km (78 mi) southeast of Berlin, on the River Spree, Cottbus is also a major railway junction with extensive sidings/depots. Although only a small Sorbian minority lives in Cottbus itself, the city is considered as the political and cultural center of the Sorbs in Lower Lusatia.

I've been in this place several times and tried many curses. Schnitzels are super and the people are very friendly. I only regret there are not so many beers you can choose but the available ones are good. Prices are honest and the quality is very high. Ones it was my Bday and they let my frienda keep an icecream cake in their fridge, very kind of them.

Suddently decided try Kartoffelkiste in Cottbus and were very satisfied. wanted something more or less traditional German. Though menu wasn't in any other language than German, with help of restaurant personnel, their basic English and our basic German, we established communication and made our choices.
Ordered two soups, of course, potato ones, and two main courses: pork steak and shnitsel. Food was lovely, service very good and friendly.
Menu contains many traditional meals made of potatos.
Prices are average downtown prices, not too high, not cheap, but worth it.
Definitely, going back their to try something else next time!

A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, extremely helpful and and accommodating staff. A brilliant place to eat and drink or relax with family and friends and it's biker friendly too. Well worth a visit to experience good German hospitality.

This place you have to go to if you are near Cottbus. The town itself is well stocked with quality shops, which is surprising for a quiet town in the old East Germany. This ice cream restaurant is superb. The waitresses, many of them are very good looking blondes, were very efficient and helpful. The ice cream selection was excellent. And the prices were very good. As for cleanliness - you could have eaten of the floor.
An Ice cream Heaven. Definitely a must go place.

We spent a few days in Cottbus and this was my favorite restaurant. Both evenings that we ate here were excellent. The quality and quantity of the dishes and the extensive menu got my vote. The atmosphere warm and cozy especially in the little back bit. We managed to get a table without a booking it was busy but we were lucky. I would certainly recommend booking for a Friday or Saturday night. Super service with excellent food... Thank you

Ambiente und Bedienung sehr nett. Waren nur mal für ein Drink hier und keiner hat gemeckert. Beim nächsten mal aufjeden Fall auch mit Essen, sah alles sehr gut aus.
