We are located in an old carpenters workshop, built into the rocks over 200 years ago. We prepare all food freshly and to order so if you are in for fast food, El Pilon will not suit your needs. We source as much of our food locally when possible. El Pilon is a relaxed kind of place where you can enjoy the views, a bottle of wine, and conversations with friends and family. We also have Wi Fi. If our service and food does not satisfy you please advise rus and we will always do our best to rectify any problem immediately.
We visit this restaurant on the sunday lunch for the flamenco show. The location is great in a really traditional spanish style. We just had a dessert and a cup of wine, but it was delicious. The staff and the singer and the musician was fantastic, great time at El Pilon!

Friendly and professional service with a lovely outside dining area. Everything freshly prepared.
We started with a most delicious, cool gazpacho which was perfect after a sunny day and had decided to follow this with the Parillada Argentina - a copious mixed platter of lamb, beef, pork which had been beautifully cooked on the bbq... mmm... my mouth is watering at the memory of it!
We would always try and return here if in the area.

Opposite the church.
Been here before over the years the night started with a long wait in excess of 50 minutes just to order , so we sat there like melons to be told they were to busy, its not that we didnt book we booked a table so if they cannot cope they shouldn't take bookings.
When we finally ordered the chicken was raw and the meatballs cold, the poor waiter took loads of complaints everybody ended up feeling sorry for him,and the poor young English waitress didn't know were to look.
Never again for us worst experience in Competa

My husband and I were staying in Nerja for the second time this year and visited Frigiliana four times during our two weeks holiday, we love the place. We found this little cafe/restaurant quite by chance. We visited the beautiful Church in Frigiliana and spotted this menu board, all perfectly written in English and just had to have a look. La Tienda, as it is called is a small cafe which is run by a husband and wife. The food is amazing. I fancied the Ploughmans, my husband had a toastie. My ploughmans came on a platter. There were 3 large, thick slices of Cheddar cheese, a pot of Branston pickle, a pot of grainy mustard, crisps, 3 slices of ham, a bowl of sliced tomatoes and onions and in a separate basket, half a loaf of gorgeous bread with real butter. I was in heaven. This was by far the finest Ploughmans I'd ever tasted, home or abroad. My husband ordered the fresh fruit bowl which came filled with various fresh fruits with a topping of greek yoghurt and Frigiliana honey. Absolutely gorgeous. The couple on the next table had the Spanish platter and they were over the moon with their choice. There aren't many tables outside but there are more inside. I would definitely recommend La Tienda and this will be our favourite eating place when we go to Frigiliana again next year.

Not a great experience , the carpark was over crowded and when I returned to my car there was a big dent in the wing. We were served drinks after asking twice , then waited over 1 hour to be served our food. The food was average and very over priced, If you are looking for a nice lunch there are much better options in Frigiliana.
Would not make a return visit.

We dined here on a busy Saturday night and had some very good food, wine and service. The tables are outside on a side street just off the main town plaza and next to the church. A very atmospheric place to eat when there is entertainment in the square on a Saturday evening after the church service. We shared a pate starter and I had a lovely cod dish for my main course. If we visit Competa again we will definitely eat at Oscar's again.

Six of us had lunch here on arrival and again today. So good we have booked for tomorrow night. All food is freshly cooked and tastes great. Vegetarian options good and others more than happy. Really nice waiter ( owner?). Service is not rapid but why should it be? Everything arrives and is consumed. A great spot in a lovely village

This little bar and foody place is just out of the village and easily missed because it doesn't really look much from the outside .A few tables and seats outside to watch the world go by but go inside and find a lovely little bar and Seating area .Very little English spoken but it doesn't matter at all .the beers are good and as are the really well prepared tapas made on site .

We recently holidayed in Sayalonga. We were a little put out to find that on arrival at our accomodation that of the three restaurants in the village that open all week, that only one-Jocavi, was open while we were there. We need not have worried. We were delighted with the food, drink and the service we received at this lovely welcoming haven in the main square.
We had varied meals from the extensive menu during our stay and all were very good-the sole being a particular joy.Sensibly priced with good portions, but backed up with friendly, cheerful and welcoming service from the people working there. So much so that if we saw them in passing, away from Jocavi they would always give us a cheery greeting.
Loved it!
