Checked Tripadvisor for recommend restaurants and found that this one suited our tastes.
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and the atmosphere was great. Not to mention the food!
Our Son ordered chicken kebabs a
Which came with apotato gratin and a side of fresh veg. What's more, it was served with a mini spit roast device, which allowed him to cook the chicken to his taste! (A great experience for a 14 year old)
My wife and I had the Raclette, which was superb. (A chunk of cheese which you melt yourself!, served with cold meats, boiled spuds and pickles)
Don't expect the surroundings of the Ritz, but do expect charm!

This restaurant is just a few minutes from the main square, entry through a courtyard. Very impressive decour and friendly welcome from the staff. We arrived at approx 7.40 only 3 other tables taken, but within 30 mins the place was relatively full with mostly locals. Excellent value for money with a large and varied menu, not just Italian. Highly recommended

My wife and I were recommended to this restaurant by the receptionist of our hotel next door.
She suggested that we should book.
We took a chance and entered without a reservation.
It was 8pm on a Thursday night.
The restaurant had four staff visible and just TWO diners!
This couple were sat at a cramped table for two, tight up against a wall.
We were offered a similar table which I declined.
I asked to sit at one of the other many empty tables, indicating that I preferred "more elbow room".
We were told that those tables were set for four people and we were only two, therefore we had to sit where we were told - at a table set for two.
I stated that I did not HAVE TO SIT anywhere
We left to find a restaurant where we were welcomed.
I suggest that the owner of this establishment visits Fluvio restaurant a 100 metres along the road to see how it is possible to make money. Fluvio was very busy but the staff were accommodating.
When we returned to our hotel passing this restaurant, it was still empty and closing for the night!!
The staff here obviously do not care or are just lazy.
When I related this experience to the hotel receptionist, she was not surprised.
She stated that this had happened before to other guests, avoiding serving them for a variety of reasons.
Why then did she recommend it???

This is the Bistro of the hotel, a famous local eaterie. The service is attentive and formal, but the ambience relaxed. The food is excellent, but very rich and to have a chance of eating the 3 courses you need to go easy on the...MoreDear Sir, Dear Guest, Thank you for your visit and sharing your feelings. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here with a menu. Lovely food, nice service. Small things were not so great - fish a little bit on the dry side, hot chocolate cake inside not really melting... And the grand mariner soufflé I was eager to taste had run out... But tasty food and all in all a nice experience. Restaurant is very popular, we reserved a table the day before. That was a good plan, as all tables were booked the evening we ate there and other people hat to be sent away.

Restaurant familial labellise maitre restaurateur depuis mars 2010.<br>Fermeture vendredi soir et dimanche toute la journee.
We have enjoyed a very good Champagne, a good Pommard and good cooked food of constant quality dish after dish.
We have however regretted that one of the waitresses had been too direct, that the Riz de Veau was a little too cooked. It would also be a good idea to rethink the decoration with an expert.

We had reserved for 6 people and had a very comfortable evening. Hors d'oevres were fabulous like the main course and dessert.
The first dish was not so to my liking but everybody else enjoyed it.
Beware of the Chocolate bomb dessert, it will detonate without prior mercy!
You get far more then you pay for.

For having tried a lot of Indian restaurants in France, in big cities nonetheless, we would have never thought that a small Indian restaurant in a small town like Châlons en Champagne would be such a delight.
The food was good and quite authentic.
The service was good. The owners are Indian and they speak French and English.

We took a starter (salade Le Normandie and escargots) and a main dish (lamb and entrecote). Excellent food, large portions and a very tasty local touch. We really enjoyed everything. The apero and wine were also top. The restaurant was fully booked but we got a very good service, lovely bistrot. Prices are low. Fully recommend this restaurant!

What else would you expect given the name, but it is interesting to see the variety of things to do with the humble potato. Service is quick, the house wine palatable.
