We arrived in Chaiten with nowhere to stay and headed to restaurant El Quijote for somewhere to stay after being recommended to us by somebody we had met in the previous town. We were immediately greeted by owner Javier who eagerly showed us to our room, which was basic but at least the bathroom had hot water (although blue corresponds to hot water in the shower, which caused some initial confusion, but was good in the end!). However, it was Javier's personality that we fell in love with, despite our very poor Spanish. He was extremely friendly and charismatic, and dispelled any potential awkwardness due to the apparent language barrier when interacting with us. The food at El Quijote was great too, some of the best chicken and chips I have ever had! Should you find yourself in Chaiten definitely swing by El Quijote, even if it's only for a drink - you'll be made to feel very welcome and may be tempted to stay longer...

Looked for a building and instead there was a bus turned into restaurant! Ordered 2 Italian Churrasco sandwiches to go. Very good. If you sit inside it is cozy and close, but definitely a fun experience. Lots of young clients. Young owners work hard in the tiny kitchen- one dish at a time. :-)

A very well settled environment for a
restaurant, music, woods, courtains, wifi, what a moment to remember, the food is an experience , difficult you think you can find it here, myself and my husband landed here after ferry, sandwiches and camping food.
Ask for salmon cancato, and mushed potatoes it is excellent as well as the wine by glass ( better priced than bottle reserva misiones de Rengo) so an experience,
Prices are cheap for the zone totally acceptable. Enjoy.

We went here because pretty much everywhere else was closed. We both shared a pizza which was really great. They have wine and beers also. Menu is small (pizzas and hamburgers) but done very well. The restaurant itself is well maintained and I think new (they may have been in a different location according to google). Friendly staff also. Nice information on the walls about local textiles. Cheap also.

On the shores of one of Chile's largest lakes. 50 kilometers south of Chaitén through the Carretera Austral-.Here, surrounded by ice-capped peaks, rainforests and open waters, you'll find delicious meals and fine wines are such an important part of Chilean culture and we are proud to bring you the best of both.
I was here daily for food and wifi. Very pleasant after fishing in the wild... good meat and fish, fines vines, very fresh vegetables, good café, and adorable personnal.

Nice place to eat a good pizza and big Sandwich, with a expedition cheef and a mauntain guide telling stories drinking craft beer and mate, the tipical patagonian drink.
The restaurant was new when we visited, its quirky, inside a plastic dome. But it was warm on a cold night and we had excellent pizzas. The owner and staff were friendly and we hope the restaurant is a great success.Thank you very much for your opinion, and we hope your trip was fantastic..

Family owned and operated beautiful B&B with cabanas/cabins available as well. We stayed upstairs in the main home with restaurant downstairs. The room was so beautiful and euro. Basic ammenities but we were very happy with the location and the whole house. The restaurant offers incredible home cooked meals. Something we have dearly missed in South America. Fresh caught Salmon and the best steak yet. Carolina and her mother really look after you, nothing is too big a ask and they have such an amazing passion for the area. We love to stay in authentic, friendly, warm places and this place hits the mark in every way!
