Most diners had Reservations, but we were lucky to get a seat when a party cancelled. Service was very good and the savory crepes were a highlight for me. The savory crepes are also very healthy, as they contain buckwheat flour. For dessert, we had the flaming Calvados crepes. A fun little place, and not expensive.

We celebrated there the birthday of my daughter. It was the second time we visited this restaurant. It is a simple place, no fussy decoration, calm with nice atmosphere. The staff was very polite and helpful. We ordered champaign (for the celebration) and then 2 of the Paris menus and one New York menu. The food was delicious. A small remark only for the sweets which were not at the level of the food, still nice though. The prices were really good for such a quality of food. We will visit again.

Passing by in France, a friend recommended this place to me. I am usually quite fussy with food but this time I really wasn't disappointed! the food was excellent! fresh food and typically french.
1 waitress and 1 chef which makes it a very friendly restaurant, the waitress was lovely, friendly and warm and the cook came to ask us what we thought about the food. the price was reasonable too.
I highly recommend it! this is my new favourite spot in Rennes.

I enjoyed my visit to Le Chaland. I though the food was quite good and the setting is also really nice. There is a large indoor varanda that overlooks the river and in the winter it felt like we were almost having dinner outside. We found the service to be very friendly.

Set in a converted water mill straddling a branch of the river Vilaine to the east of Rennes, this lovely hotel and restaurant gives visitors the impression of being on a smooth first class river cruise.
We were given a very friendly welcome and made to feel at home. Our room was clean and comfortable.
Beginning with an excellent, neatly presented foie grass, followed by delicious coquilles St. Jacques on a bed of sweet potato plus garnishes, and rounded off by a light desert, we had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner looking out over the river. The service was perfect. Friendly and efficient but not intrusive. The wine list was good too and we appreciated the expert advice.
The breakfast room is equally pretty, the buffet fine, much the same as in similar hotels. The staff were particularly patient with our slightly awkward efforts to tease coffee out of their scary coffee machine!
An idyllic mill, owned by the Goualin family since 1930, when it was fully operational, Le Germinal became a hotel and restaurant in 1974. The present owner and director, Aude Goualin, great grand-daughter of the first owners, is very hands on and attentive, present in the hotel and directing service in the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and will be going back.

Nous avons trouvé l’accueil très moyen de la patronne qui est peu souriante.
Le cadre est très agréable, le service souriant et rapide.
Les plats sont bons et copieux.
Bon restaurant

Although Côt'& Boeuf is not located in the centre of the city, it is one of the best restaurants we tried while staying in Rennes. Its meals were very nice, regarding both quality and quantity, while as a desert you should definitely order its creme brulee – maybe the best we tasted in our trip. The atmosphere is very nice, the personnel is smiling and helpful, while the person who cooks/roasts the meet knows very well his job! I would definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone who is hungry around Cesson-Sevigne!

We stopped at the ibis just up the road and were directed here by the staff as the ibis restaurant was closed. We were glad to be honest..a lovely meal of pork followed by a delightful crepe all swilled down by a nice cidre.

The galettes and crêpes (savory and sweet respectively, for reference) here are simply excellent. It's got a very welcoming atmosphere and the hostess was very nice and helpful. I recommend the crêpe called La Normande--it's topped with house made baked apple slices and cinnamon and doused in a local apple brandy that's been set on fire (this in French is called "flambée" and there are a few other options like it on the menu).

A nice little traditional restaurant near the city centre. With a warm and charming ambience, le Bistrot du quai offers you home-made cooking with fresh seasonal products. From Monday to Friday, you can taste traditional French “gastronomy”, classical dishes modernized or cuisine from around the world (slow cooked meat, fresh fish, cheese-topped dishes, crumbles, tarts and gourmet coffee) served with independent producers’ wines (from many regions of France). In the evening (Saturday included), you may reserve the restaurant only for you! The restaurant can be privatized from fifteen people up to forty for a buffet.
We found this restaurant through Tripadvisor while in Rennes, and made a reservation by phone an hour before lunch. From that moment, I had a good feeling about the place. The friendliness over the phone in spite of less than perfect French on my side, was inspiring.
Once arrived at the nice looking corner building, we were seated with the same friendliness as had been experienced by phone.
The choices were somewhat limited, but absolutely adequate, and the quality of the food and the presentation of the dishes was all top notch.
On a Monday, the place filled up to approx. a 90% level, which is quite impressive. Most people seemed to be local, and we appeared to be the only tourists there. But, we were treated as locals, and had a most pleasant meal - at a very reasonable price. Good value for money!
Having our summer house an hour away, we will definitely come back.
