Had a meal here on Valentine's night with another couple... the service was excellent... the waitresses had smiles all evening nothing was too much trouble. The meal was the nicest I've had in a long long time.... I highly recommend ... it was advertised that the ladies got a gift on the night... I expected a single rose maybe... but we got a box of milk try and bottle of processco and a rose . The owner Padraig is always about and very friendly and shows appreciation to your visit. On this night two young waitresses came out and were moving to the band they looked so happy in their jobs which was lovely to see... I enjoyed my meal and drinks so much so I've a family occasion booked here in April and can't wait....

I visited here yesterday with my two sons & we were delighted. Service was excellent with friendly staff. I had smoked salmon on brown bread. The brown bread is the nicest I've ever tasted. Finished off with a delicious strawberry pavlova. I loved the menu & all the funny little quirks on it. Little gem of a place I can't wait to re-visit.

Built on the site of the famous Embassy Ballroom, the Glencarn Hotel & Leisure Centre continues a long standing tradition of top quality entertainment and big name bands We are renowned for entertainment and good food. Just 2 mins from award winning Concra Wood golf course, we are 50 mins from Dublin Airport & 1 hr from Belfast General information 30 ensuite bedrooms including family rooms Leisure Centre with 20 metre pool, jacuzzi, plunge pool, children's pool, cardio vascular room, sauna & steam rooms.
On many occasions we have had no problems and couldn't fault food or service in the Glen. But there have been a couple of visits when this is not the case - from waiting 55 minutes to receive food, to unsatisfactory chicken and not being checked up on for a whole meal.
But generally the food is good, a little consistency with service is needed.

Established in 2012, The View Restaurant and bar is the ideal place to unwind. It has a uniquely designed bar and restaurant that offers panoramic views of Concra Wood Golf course and the surrounding lake of Lough Muckno.
We were staying at Lakeshore House B&B (also much recommended), next door, and asked our proprietor Anne to recommend somewhere to eat. She said she'd been to The View many times and phoned to make a booking for us.
This is about the best meal we had in our three weeks touring Ireland. I can't recommend it highly enough in terms of quality, service and quantity. It has an unusual ordering method which I don't understand why more restaurants don't use. Which is you get a free choice of a side to accompany your main - from quite a long list. My companion chose Caesar salad which was close in size to a starter and I chose their delicious garlic cream potatoes.
The food was piping hot and tasty; absolutely delicious. I had Thai chicken curry and my companion had pork in sweet and sour sauce.
There was a bit of noise from the other end of the room - maybe there is a bar there, but our end was peaceful.
Whilst you eat you overlook the 18th hole of the golf course and can watch people finishing their round.

I made a visit to Blayney with 7 angling pals for a weeks fishing on lough Mucknow. We arrived on Saturday June 11th and I visited the Castle Spice on the evening to be warmly greeted by Anul (I hope thats how to spell his name) after demolishing a very tasty chicken dopiaza I returned to our guest house and during the following week made several return visits, the staff are very friendly (they invited me to share their evening meal on the Wednesday evening, true hospitality) The restaurant and the associated facilities are spotlessly clean. An added bonus is you can bring your own alcoholic drinks. I am returning for another weeks fishing in September and a visit to the Castle Spice is a certainty. Well done
