Great place. Excellent food, real Italian style. We had the catch of the day with king prawn ravioli and the fennel with orange salad. SUPERB. Best meal we had in New Zealand during our holiday. Also the service was top! Do not miss this opportunity. Many thanks for your wonderful review. Our staff are the best!

Always a friendly place to spend an evening watching rugby. Reasonable price bar, friendly staff, lots of space inside & out.
Currently having a refurb to the exterior. I hope it happens inside too eventually - the decor is drab & tired & very dated. But in some ways that adds to the charm, as do the friendly family owners...

Cafe Irresistiblue is situated centrally in the Waikato only 10 minutes from Cambridge, 15 minutes from Te Awamutu and 25 minutes out of Hamilton. Just follow the brown road signs from the Cambridge-Te Awamutu Road. Cafe Irresistibue and orchard shop are open ALL YEAR 7 days a week, 9am-4.30pm. Bookings are welcome. With high ceilings and a rustic, country feel, the cafe is a great place to visit, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and a meal, overlooking New Zealand's largest certified organic blueberry orchard. The cafe is also fully licensed and has disability access. There is ample outdoor Seating on the huge decks that grace the cafe, as well as gorgeous wooden indoor tables and huge windows, so you can enjoy the views no matter where you sit. Our cafe can cater for up to 60 guests, and can also be booked for special functions. Orchard tours also available (Oct-Mar).
we did not book, we warmly welcomed and told to chose a table, we chose indoors as it was windy out. Cold water was delivered quickly while we waited for out third attendee. Our orders were taken quickly and with a smile and it wasn't long before it arrived. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

This is a very popular location for the well-to-do of nearby Cambridge that serves good food and drinks in a pleasant countryside setting. However, service leaves a lot to be desired - on our second visit nobody seemed to know what was happening behind the counter. Also, typical of NZ cafes in general, it would be nice if drinks and food could be served at about the same time - drinks come quickly but food tends t follow long after when drinks are finished! Also had some problems finding our about opening times over Christmas / New Year period.
IMO the adjoining so-called Art gallery is very poor, with trinkets and low grade 'art'.
Notwithstanding, nice place for lunch but get there early.

Located on the main Cambridge - Hamilton road, it is ideally situated for a coffee or a quick bite en route. Great coffee roasted and ground on the premises, accompanied by a good range of well prepared local food served by friendly and efficient staff.

outstanding cafe in the centre of town with a real country feel, lovely Gardens and decor, the best coffee in town and the best freshly cooked food in town. Specialising in kiwi infused cooking using homegrown and locally grown products.
A friend and I have enjoyed lunch here several times. The counter food is varied and delicious and servings are LARGE. Their desserts are especially yummy and they make a particularly good Eccles cake; a pastry filled with sultanas and spice and all things nice!! Apart from the excellent coffee there is a wide variety of teas available. A great addition to the Cambridge café world and really worth a visit for lunch or any time snacks and a beverage.

Rouge is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and coffee, 7 days from 7.30Am until 4pm. Enjoy a glass of wine in our sunny courtyard, or cosy up inside with hot coffee in winter. Free customer wifi is available, and we also take bookings.
I was passing through Cambridge on my way to Taupo recently and decided to stop at rouge, despite it's lack of apparent character. I decided to give the dated exterior a chance, given that my usual experiences with other cafes of such have had surprisingly good food and coffee when compared to the decor. I entered the cafe to see the girl at the till getting yelled at and was tempted to leave but my coffee needs were high. I didn't find their menu very exciting, but thought maybe a simple selection would be made to a high standard. The mushrooms on toast I got were very rubbery and unevenly heated, and the toast was lukewarm and slightly stale. The coffee was alright, though quite over priced, and I come from Auckland! I don't think that these menu options were very current with what frequent cafe goers like to eat, and my daughter agreed with me with the fact that Rouge had a dated outlook on hospitality. Maybe I just caught them in a bad week, but from my experience, I would not recommend..

Welcome to Alpino... We are a modern Italian Restaurant in the heart of Cambridge. Meeting point for locals and travellers to enjoy italian soulfood at it's best. A couple of Peroni's, dinner with your loved ones or just a quick and delicious Pizza, we have it all covered.
A converted Post Office put to very good use, serving Italian inspired food that is extremely good. Sitting outside we had two waiters serve us, both equally professional and charming. Service was quick (amazingly so) and our meals were amongst the best we have had in that food style. Highly recommended.

The boss had perfectly spiced noodles with oodles of mushrooms while I settled for an "ordinary" custard cronut.
The boss raved about the deliciousness of her dish, washed down with a perfect chai latte and my cronut was gorgeous too. Great coffee to help it slide down too.
Most, but not all staff were engaging too.
No wonder this place is so highly rated and recommended.
