Overlooking the square in the centre of Cahir, Malone's Galtee Inn is a family-run establishment renowned for its succulent locally produced steaks and traditional Irish cuisine. The cosy interior comprises a long bar, warmed by log fires, with a spacious restaurant behind and private dining rooms above. The bar offers a fine range of rare Irish whiskeys.
Can't fault the service or quality of food here! While the menu is not awe inspiring everything we ordered was well prepared and tasty, we did have to wait a little bit but it was totally worth it and the staff were so friendly and kept checking up on us. Long story short, excellent steak and service!

My colleague and I came here for a late lunch around 3pm. I would have expected to have a limited choice left available, but there were lots of choices. Also noted gluten and dairy free too. Carvery available and good selection of cakes etc. Nice service with a smile and the food was excellent. I would definitely eat there again.

The Lazy Bean Café is Cahir's favourite restautant, located centrally on the Square. Best coffee in town.
We came across this place when looking for somewhere for breakfast. It was a busy and popular place with couples and families. We ordered a weekender Sandwich and some pancakes. The pancakes were good but the weekender Sandwich something else! It was fantastic. Great choice of drinks too and the cakes looked great but sadly we were full up!

Our aim is to serve good fresh good food in a nice atmosphere. The prices must be reasonable and the food is cooked in an open view kitchen. The interaction between our customers and staff is very important to us.
We came to the Ireland as a tourists and stayed couple days in Cahir town. So we decided to go out for nice food. We saw Galileo Cafe and walked in. We were greeted by kind waitress who give us table which we wanted. Servers were nice and give us advice for meal, becauce we can't decide what we want. But... we was very bad surprised about atmosphere in the kitchen, because chefs were arguing and fighting very loud in their language, and it doesn't make us feel good. Restaurant wasn't very busy at that time but we get very messy food. We where very disappointed because of that price we expected something more...

Lava Rock restaurant is a newly opened restaurant (November-2014) in the town of Cahir. We offer a modern style of international and grill cuisine, in a contemporary designed layout with a view of an open kitchen. It is a fifty seater restaurant with two dining areas and an optional outside Seating area during the summer months. Private parking is also available on the same ground. The restaurant offers a BYO (Bring Your Own Wine) service.
Driving through Cahir today, my daughter and I stopped for lunch. We had an absolutly
Masterchef wonderous meal, braised rib of beef cooked to perfection, falling off the bone and accompained by creamy mash and roasted veg, truly top class.
I had the cottage pie, wonderfully moist and tasty, topped with a delicate smoked cheese.
Unfortunatly we were pressed for time so takeaway coffes were all we had time for after the wonderful lunch, even the coffee was delicious.
Lovely friendly helpful staff, this is really a must visit restaurant.

Absolutely excellent food with plentiful portions and great staff. We have eaten here during the week and for Sunday lunch and both were equally good. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough if you are hungry and need satisfying food. Typical Irish pub with great food..

This has been my second visit to this restaurant for lunch, its a little bit out of town and can be quiet as locals dont realise its there but I have to say the food is amazing always cooked from Fresh and very fast and efficient. I had the fish and chips it was fab batter was lovely and fish really fresh. My other friends had chicken stir fry in tempura batter and the other chicken noodle stir fry and they just love it they have been a few times as well. So I would advise anyone from Cahir and surrounding area give this café a try you will be impressed.
