Went to this place for a business dinner. The food is typical German with local dishes from Sauerland. Beer is always fresh and tasty. Service is very good and efficient. Credit cards are accepted, what is an exception in this town.

I visited my parents for a weekend in my home village and we went to Almer Schlossmühle to try "something else" for dinner. The service was really good - very polite, fast, and attentive. I especially liked that they explained each course to us - my parents had a surprise menu (3 courses) so they did not automatically know what was on their plates... Also, when realizing that I am vegetarian, they were super flexible with offering me another (meatless) amuse-gueule. I ordered the pumpkin soup with nutmeg as starter and the Carinthian noodles as main course. Both dishes were very delicious and seasoned well, I was really happy with my food choice. To conclude, I can highly recommend Almer Schlossmühle and would definitely go there again!!

Enorme déception.
Depuis le temps qu'on m'en parlait... et vu le nombre de voiture stationnée devant tous les week-ends...
Pourquoi utiliser de la salade industrielle ? Où sont les saveurs ? et le soin apporté à la présentation pour un restaurant qui se veut de haut niveau ?

From the appetizers to the entrees, just follow the recommendations of the owner, Mr. Burkard!
The menu changes periodically and the specials of the day are always excellent!!!
From venison to fish, all the food is absolutely top grade!!
Note: If you are in the area in April, you must absolutely come and taste the local asparagus!!!! The season only last 4-5 weeks.
Good wine selection, but, again, just follow Burkard's suggestions!!
While off the beaten path (it is about 80km from Dortmund) it is well worth the detour!!!

Worth a wander to- a very busy but ideally situated cafe constisting of a few huts and a large outer Terrace. The huts can get stuffy when full, but there is an open fire to warm yourself against, which is nice on a cold winters day. When the sun shines you can also sit by the stream outside that runs by. Traditional german food (sausage, cauliflower, schnitzel, chicken) and drink (Glühwein, beer etc) but also hot chocholate. We went to the counter so can not comment on the service, but include it on your hike for a break even if just to take 10 minutes to admire the scenery or the nearby donkies !

Haben dort bis jetzt zweimal gegessen. Als Vorspeise kann man sich an der Salatbar einen Salat holen. Diese Bezeichnung trägt sie aber zu unrecht. Ich erwarte da ein wenig mehr. Zum Hauptgericht, gyros überbacken mit Kartoffel. Geschmack wie gewohnt nach Metaxa Soße, davon reichlich. Das essen lag mir schwer im Magen. Geschmacklich gut aber auch nicht so überragend das man nochmal hin muss. Der Service dafür ist sehr nett.
