Returned to this restaurant after several years & wasn`t disappointed. Small intimate setting & ideal for that special occassion. Food was beautifully presented & cooked. Time was given between courses, so that you didn`t feel rushed whilst having your meal. The waitress was very attentive & provided a great service to us throughout our visit. Will certainly be back again. Well worth giving it a try.

Last weekend, to celebrate a double birthday, we decided to visit this restaurant for a meal. Have not visited this hotel for many years, but the quality of the meals are still the same as I remembered. Ample Seating are in the bar, and also a restaurant are as well. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Will definitely visit again in the future.

Not been for a buffet at the Swan for a few years. There was 20 chaffing dishes each numbered and a handwritten plan - a rice, one with nam breads, one side dish, 4 starters and the rest mains....
Poppadum brought first then help your self. We were quite early so everting looked fresh and was tasty - though a couple of the mains were very lurid colours. There wasn't much interaction with the staff - theres often too much - but frankly we were pretty much ignored and it would of been nice to be checked to see if we needed anything.
The music in the background was stuttering - I think they must of been streaming it but they must have a crap internet connection..... all in all food was fine, but atmosphere and service a bit lacking. Just over £26 for two buffets and two drinks - so great value. Fine if you are with a group of friends but not the place for a romantic meal or to impress your boss.

We stayed here for a family christening, we had a meal the night before which was beautiful sizes were big and lots to choose from. The rooms were stunning had everything in them, a sofa, chair, all the amenities you needed. The bed was a good size and very comfy. The next day we went to the christening then back for a lunch again which was lovely. The Gardens off one of the function suites was lovely and plenty of room for the children to run about. Would highly recommend and I would stay here again definitely.

Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner the Baillie Restaurant is the ideal place to meet and catch up with family and friends in a relaxed dining environment.
Visited here on Saturday evening for a meal for my husbands birthday and really wished we hadn't bothered. The food was a disgrace with far from fresh ingredients being used. The 2 wedges of lemon that were served with my husbands starter were brown and shrivelled up accompanied with brown lettuce. My Cullen Skink was cold. Our main courses arrived, at this point we got up and left leaving them on the table. The service was also nowhere near up to scratch. Please avoid this place if you want to avoid disappointment.

Can't review the takeaway food as cooked in beef dripping. A treat for some but a big disappointment if you are vegetarian or vegan. So terrible for those people.

Popped in with a friend for a coffee and a scone this morning and loved chatting at the large table listening to the beautiful large clock ticking away above us. Balmakewan have some lovely gifts so I started my Christmas shopping today too!! Lovely atmosphere (Not sure why we haven't sat the large table before as it's so homely) with excellent service and delicious cakes (I took a slice of raspberry Bakewell tart home too!!)
