Rivendell's Restaurant is run and owner by Thomas Sinn and offers fabulous food from fresh local produce that will please the most decadent palate. The menu offers an exciting selection of breakfast dishes, while overlooking a breathtaking vista of the surrounding vineyards and Mountains. For relaxing leisurely lunches you can choose from a variety of dishes on our new menu.
We had breakfast with friends on 22 January on an sunny mid-morning. We sat on the verandah under a shade cloth awning. The restaurant is relatively small, stylish and modern and adorned with numerous paintings of local artists. Real fabric serviettes were provided at the tables as were rolled-up cotton hand towels in the rest room. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. I had the small "Early Bird Breakfast". It was well presented and consisted of quality ingredients at a very reasonable price. This is a quality restaurant I am looking forward to visiting again.

Gastro Pub and Grill - under new operator ship since November 2017. Open 7 Days per week with MeinHost - Philip Harrison
We visited Fat Catz café a couple of years back and enjoyed a pleasant tranquil lunch on the shaded Terrace at the back, overlooking a garden of succulents. Two years on, a lot has changed. In the immediate vicinity, other premises are up for sale or already closed-down. The man now in charge of the café seemed perfectly genial, but service was hit and miss. Of all the ten or so white wines on the wine list, only a single bottle was available. Our quiches with a small salad were probably decent enough when they came out of the oven, but they’d been ruined by a long zap in the microwave. Fat Catz café has gone to seed, which is a shame.

Beautiful family friendly wine farm in the Overberg! Great views, Great food and Great people
Living in Stellenbosch, and absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to wine it’s not often that we venture over the Mountains into the Overberg for wine tasting. However, the New Year, New Adventures bug caught as and so we decided to venture beyond our usual borders, and so we found ourselves at the picturesque Gabrielskkoof - and what a fantastic time we had!
We were hosted by Mr Bernard Heyns himself, who was an absolute wealth of conversation and knowledge. As a table full of keen wine enthusiasts, we would have liked very much for him to pull up a chair and join us with an open bottle for the rest of the afternoon!
The experience was the perfect combination of simplicity, and authenticity. The wines are excellent, and the homemade olives made by Mrs Heyns were out of this world!
This is most certainly a must to add to add wine lovers bucket list.
If New Year’s Day is any kind of reflection of the year to come, 2018 is sure to be a fantastic one!

A quirky restaurant on the side of the rail way tracks, open for pizzas and ribs and a range of daily specials. Live music and roast on a Sunday. Unique parties and weddings catered for, with no venue hire. Local is lekker and we aim to buy only south african products sourced as locally as we can get them. Like us on facebook to keep up to date.
We recently returned for lunch and were welcomed by a fabulous waitress who couldn't have been more friendly if she tried. She listened well, was not intrusive and very efficient.
My dad had the Banting burger which he said was very good - it looked amazing - so well presented and generous.
I asked for the garlic and herb forcaccia and added avo, tomato and rocket - a vegan option - it was delightful, tasty and I was in heaven. With the great view out, a treat of a train coming by and the lovely peace and quiet, it was a really awesome afternoon out.
Thank you - we will be back!

We visited this restaurant in August 2017 and had one of our best meals ever. My husband has been longing for "that soup from Hebron restaurant" since we returned to the USA. All the food was outstanding - made with real skill and knowledge of flavors and how to blend them.

We enjoyed big juicy Banting Burgers here on our way to Cape Town. Lose the roll, the chips and o.nion rings and have 2 hot veggies instead. This was accompanied by a very generous portion of guacamole and a slice of bacon. Not 100% Banting...MoreDear Geo H, Thanks so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your burger as we pride ourselves in excellent meals. We hope to have you back again, soon. Kind regards, Spur Team

We had supper at this restaurant. We were advised that the place had just been recently renovated. The service was really good. The manager was very attentive with all the customers and even served some of the dishes herself.
I ordered a fish dish which was really succulent and not too dry. My husband had the ostrich which was also good. The dishes were prepared and presented very well.
Definitely worth a visit.

Weather warm again! Decided on Honingklip. Was a great choice. Mussels, and we are fussy, were fantastic. Beautifully cooked and very meaty. Springbok casserole equally good, as was the 'not even close to dry' swordfish. One of the best Sunday lunches.we have had for a long time. Well done, Chef.
