Bormio has literally been a tourist hot spot for centuries—ever since Roman times, visitors have flocked to its thermal hot springs. Today, most tourists come from other cities in Italy. Not into getting overheated? You’ll find great skiing (including a downhill course used on the World Cup circuit), or you could explore the medieval town center.

Happy to be back to Al Filo after many years. My favorite there is a local vegetarian pasta, what we call ‘Bormio pasta’ (see the photo). Service is excellent and atmosphere very nice. Old walls give special feeling. Advisable to book ahead (worked well over the mail for me).

Excellent local dishes served in very generous portions. Ask for the daily special, or simply for the dish which they would recommend to a local Italian guest on the day you visit . You cannot go wrong with their recommendation and will be intrigued by their reasons for recommending it.
Get down to the bar for after-dinner drinks and take time to chat to the owner about his royal Austrian ancestry and stories of the local resistance during the war.... fascinating stuff.
A very satisfying homely experience in a superb ambiance.

Spotted this local restaurant on Tripadvisor before a trip to Bormio. Book ahead as it was very popular with the locals.
Disappointed that they have 3 menu's (all local foods) but on the night we went, only Menu 1 was available. Was desperate to try deer!
Great cosy interior, food was delicious and wine was superb + cheap!

In Michelin-terms, I would quote: 'mérite le voyage'. Tasty, genuine, honest, affordable and the most beautiful setting on top. An extra detail: exclusively run by women ;-) Thank you Titziana, Paola and all the others who's name I forgot: we spent a wonderfull holiday at Baita de Mario. Hope to be back soon !!! Lene & Guido

Eira is our favourite ristorante in Bormio. They make the best pizzoccheri in the area. For main course we had fillet beef cut into strips (tagliata di manzo) which was cooked perfectly. Dessert was tiramisu, one of the best we have tried in Italy. A friendly family atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Some of our group had the set menu, they just didn't bother serving the last course. They mixed up our order, two people wanted white wine they had none. The food generally was average, apart from the panacotta which was terrible.

The place used to be known for good food. Today most probably because of the number of clients food is probably prepared beforehand at the best. our polenta was cold the sciatt were good however very salty and very similar to other ones found in the area. We were put in a place next to a door were cold air came in from outside. They were kind and found us a new place when we informed them. Overall ok

At 2000 metres high it gets pretty cold. But all you need is the warm welcome of this restaurant!
From the minute we walked in we were greated and seated in minutes. This restaurant offer exceptional service great views and delicious traditional dishes at a very reasonable price and served with a genuine smile. What more can you ask for?

Even with simple tea this place makes a impression. For mountains' lovers sitting on the top (3000 m) and looking around would be enough. My daughter liked pizza there and I have to agree with her. For me better food than Bormio 2000 and definitely...MoreDear Magda_1000, Thank you for your review, we are happy for your beautiful words, we wait you and your family another time in our restaurant Heaven 3000 Best Regards
