A wonderfully different restaurant. Went on a Saturday evening with my partner and my daughter who is vegan? As a non vegetarian I was a little apprehensive but was blown away by an amazing vegan dish, consisting of risotto rice, all kinds of perfectly cooked vegetables topped with thick slices of butternut squash.
We also tried 3 different gin and tonics which was fun. The atmosphere and service were also excellent and rounded of a perfect evening.
One note: this restaurant like a number in Belgium from my limited experience, surprisingly doesn't take any cards so remember to take cash.

We had the gourmet menu with accompanying wines on a sunny day at one of the outside tables.
All dishes are very well (extravaganza) accompanied with greens and the presentation is refreshing. Every single part from entree to main course was very well prepared, with contrasts of sour and sweet, tender meat and fresh fish. Not overloading or heavy in any sense; we took a good 4 hours to enjoy every bit of it. This is a good place for food lovers that are willing to spend a bit of money; would not advice this for young children.

Good friendly service, even though quite slow. The restaurant was absolutely packed, so that was possibly the reason.
All food was beautifully presented. Very nice choice of wines, we picked Pouilly Fumé and were definitely not disappointed.
However, food was unpredictable and "unstable" quality-wise. One of the starters (lobster and tomato variations) was absolutely delightful, an explosion of colour and taste and very well cooked. One of the best dishes I've ever had.
The second starter (cod) was again beautifully presented, but borderline uneatable as was super super saulty. A great pity as you could see the base product was of amazing quality, such a pity it was spoilt...
Then came the main course (beef) which was just ok, but the whole dish was very flat taste-wise.
The desert of apricot cake was tasty and a spoonful of basil sorbet added a touch of welcome freshness.
All in all a rather disappointing experience.

The restaurant provides a nice and pleasant atmosphere suited for any occasion but still remaining personal. The cuisine is Italian but there is sufficient attention to detail and an extended menu (instead of the regular pizza and pasta).

Our concept Want to socialize with couples, with your family or a business partner extensive and original breakfast, stylish lunch or afternoon enjoying the extensive coffee cake then you're in the Hasselt Maison Blanche is the right place. Delicious seasonal suggestions with fresh products! This is really "eat a la carte". Saturday from 19:30 you can enjoy a cozy evening menu: enjoy guaranteed! The sober but fashionable interiors, terraces and a custom lounge or classical background bring you immediately in a relaxed atmosphere. We forget certainly not the super-friendly and "chic" service. Maison Blanche Hasselt is the place for relaxing start of the day or a fun shopping or work breaks in.
Maison Blanche is an attractive place, even if there's hardly any space between tables. Service is very friendly and efficient. And the dishes look great. Unfortunately, they only look great. The three course tasting menu got us some tasty but unimaginative starters, followed by two pieces of Nile perch with a tasteless salad served in dough. It was made up to look like haute cuisine, but the combination of flavors (if flavors there were) did absolutely nothing. The main course was even worse: sea bream, pureed carrots (grandly named "carrot sabayon"), peppers, potatoes and a number of other ingredients in an arty looking heap. The whole thing was an exercise in mediocrity. As a dessert we got a decent nougatine with Toblerone sauce (probably the only good idea in the whole menu), and with our coffee a very good lukewarm little rice cake.
We took the wine accompaniment and although one wine was ok and one rather good (both were based on Chardonnay), they didn't enhance the flavors of the dishes at all.
Our visit gave us the impression that Maison Blanche tries very hard to look like a culinary refined restaurant, but misses one crucial thing: a good chef.

limited choice for the business lunch but very good and with the necessary flexibility for allergies - top class, chef. Interior is OK. Warm welcome and service by the owners-couple. The other staff is rather inexperienced - information about dishes or questions about drinks are not what it should be. They didn't see or check if our glasses were empty. I had to ask for refill of water, I had to remember them that my guests had decided to wait with coffee/tea till after dessert. Etc.... All of this was perfectly corrected by the lady of the house. Price/quality ++

Compared with other restaurants in Tongeren, this is probably the best price/quality in town. We took the surprise 4 menu with adapted wines for €75 and really had a wonderful experience. It was worth every cent and penny. Quality of food, drinks, service and atmosphere: all where top! Full of locals also, to celebrate special occasions. Go there and you will see.

Once a year we go for lunch/dinner in a special place. Because of the reviews we choose 'de Kwizien'. We went for lunch and we choose the 5 course season-menu. One of our group does not like fruits and for dessert we had to choose for ice-cream with fruits or cheese (this was asked even before we had the first course!). The person could not get only the ice-cream (with chocolate or something else) and was forced to pick the cheese. We believe for this kind of restaurant this is really weird (the bill was €150 per person including wine).... The rest of the courses was nice but not really surprisingly. This was not a place or lunch we would recommend and we will not return.

Le 54 is a small, pleasantly styled restaurant (about 24 couverts). Apart from having to choose from an Italy-oriented wine list, the only thing you need to decide is whether to opt for a three (38 Euro), four, or five-course (55 Euro) dinner. We opted for the full monty. Each dish, including the amuse, was refined and nicely presented. The only drawback was that the whole meal took about 3 hours. But given the quality of the dinner, we did not regret going to Le 54 and having to wait for so long. Reserving is recommended.

Got here really late (11pm). We tried two hours earlier but there wasn't any tables available, so make sure to make a reservation. The kitchen was closing up but they let us order still anything from the grill.
The food was good (nothing extraordinary, but still delicious) and definetly worth the money. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was really nice (good quiet greek music + crowded place + nice decoration).
Would recommend if you need a nice place to eat and want to do that with reasonable price tag.
