We invited some friends to lunch at La Suite. The interior decor is lovely - it was extra special for the holiday season. We had the plat du jour - veal with morille mushrooms - and it was delicious. The menu was heavily concentrated with seafood. Since neither of us eat seafood, we asked for a tossed salad as a first course. The chef happily obliged and the salad was much more than a simple tossed salad - delicious! The service was a little slow but I learned later that the chef was working alone in the kitchen and the attention to each dish was evident in the delicious results. We didn't mind the wait - gave us more time to appreciate the beautiful setting. I was pleasantly surprised to find homemade frozen yogurt on the other side of the Atlantic - the best I have ever had. Great place for a special occasion luncheon. Bon apetit!

This local restaurant in the northern suburbs of Bethune is owned by a young chef and his wife who provide very good simple dishes with flair in a setting thats a bit smarter than the normal local cafe/bar. Cheerful efficient service from his wife who speaks some English. Dont waste time eating in the centre of Bethune if you want some good straightforward French food but take a detour here and I think you wont be disappointed.

This restaurant, in the Val de Chartreuse hotel, is an elegant room exuding tradition. There is a decouvert and a gastronomic menu. These include both a very good cheese trolley and a sweet trolley which, these days, is unusual. The wine list is impressive, largely Bordeaux and Burgundies.
Another traditional feature was their "Gueridon" service where they flambe dishes in front of guests - very 1970s! Still, the restaurant works very well within the context of the lovely hotel where it is located. Also very handy for Calais, only an hour away.

Nice and friendly atmosphere. We had a set menu with unsophisticated dishes. The food was very well prepared, with a lot of creativity. The place was crowded and the service a little slow because of that. Generally speaking it has been a nice surprise because, the surrounding area didn’t look promising.

Everything was excelent. Food, people, music and with a fair price. Really good choice for French food.

We were staying for one night in Bethune and came across this great little restaurant. We were offered a menu with a good choice and I was not disappointed with my Cotes Agneau, well cooked and extremely tasty, whilst my wife's choice of Poulet Emince Rocfort was equally as tasty.Service was good and drinks ordered served in quick time by Alain, who also engaged us in an amusing way with his English.(Somewhat better than our French I might add)Total cost for the 2 of us was a reasonable 61.30 euros, not bad for 2 main meals,3 beers,2 wines,2 sweets and 2 coffees. We will certainly return here in the future.

"Maitre Restaurateur" & "Artisan en Or" since 2013, to serve your appetite! Located 30 meters from the train station, our restaurant "La Strada" invites you into its new framework to have a good time over a meal, a drink. It is in a refined and contemporary that you can enjoy the diversity of our cuisine, rich, ambitious, greedy and full of flavor! Thanks to the architecture of the place, the restaurant offers many moods and Home possibility cozy corner in the "club" atmosphere brewery side benches bistro-style, relaxed in his corner bar, high tables and stools, and you can enjoy our Terrace when the sun will honor us with his presence. (Our apologies for the translation somewhat hesitant)
This establishment has changed hands since I was last here some 7 years ago and has gone a lot more upmarket.
Service was swift and friendly and the decor relaxing and comfortable.
I ordered a fillet steak with pommes sardelaise , arrived perfectly cooked and was both tender and tasty. The potatoes were superb. The pre meal amuse bouche was a nice touch. Customary Colenel for a dessert with a very generous slug of vodka and a carafe of very acceptable rose and a bill under 45 euros left me felling well fed and having had good value for money
I will return

We chose the Menu Gourmand at Euros 32,
Starting with house Appetizers
~ then seared Foie Gras: followed by raviolis in a bed of spinach, and a sauce Porto
Main Course of Sea Bream: cooked in its skin with Duxelles chanterelles, and Apple Charlotte with Paimpol Beans
or Sausage Chez "Marzec" with breaded Herbs in a casserole,
followed by Creme Brulee: or vanilla ice cream from Tahiti in an apple crumble with Spices, each course comes with wine - this was a real dining experience . The chef /owner is a real artist Jean-Francois Buche comes to chat with his guest once he has finished the cooking and his wife Audrey is a great asset as front of house.
We will certainly visit again when we are next in Bethune, be sure to book so that you are not disappointed.
