The Bärenwirt, located in the historic district Mülln, is one of the oldest inns in Salzburg. Hospitality plays an important role since 1663 and the traditional inn is run with a lot of personal commitment. At the Bärenwirt you enjoy traditional Austrian specialities and beer of the Augustiner Bräu, the oldest brewery of Salzburg. We recommend our fried chicken, which is known as the best one of Austria. The sunny Terrace with view onto the river Salzach and the Kapuzinerberg, one of the two hills in the center of Salzburg, and the cozy guest rooms invite you to spend a relaxing and pleasurably time at the Bärenwirt. If you are planning a festivity with your family and friends the Bärenwirt provides the right offer. The package is called “Feiere dein Fest” and includes roast pork with dumpling and „sauerkraut“ and beer, which is drawn by yourself.
This is a wonderful traditional Austrian restaurant with quite a long history. It is really gemütlich, super atmosphere, friendly staff and great surroundings. The portions are enormous but excellent, they have wonderful beer too from the Augustinerbräu, very reasonably priced another favourite of ours.

I liked the ambience and the service. Our steward Mr. Rajeev provided explanations of the food before each course, I found this to be a great supplement to the food. My vegetarian food was superb. I had tortellini as my main course. Toilets were clean too. Also, as expected, no TV to be found in the room. I can’t stand restaurants with TV. The dining room also had a huge painting as decoration, if you into stuff like that. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to enjoy a great dinner with family or friends.

Best known for their breakfast/brunch menus. Gets very busy especially during the weekend. While their cakes and sweets are really very good and recommendable, their brunch is rather average, not bad, just nothing special and for what it is, simply overpriced. Unfortunately, their success and with it the big amount of people coming to them for brunch especially on warm weekend days, have a negative effect on the quality of their service. While I’d recommend it for a coffee and cake break or just a drink while exploring the city, I’d select another place for a (pricey) brunch.

We love Indian food and chose this restaurant based on the reviews. The ambiance is indeed quite spectacular but the food did not live up to our expectations. The dal was too salty for our taste and my chicken vindaloo was quite bland although the boned thigh meat was tender and well prepared. Stephanie had one of the lamb curry dishes. Lamb is difficult to get right and the lamb was indeed very tender but the sauce didn’t really do justice to the meat. This might have all been forgivable except our glasses of Prosecco were flat and not particularly good. The menu lists a number of Prosecco cocktails. One wonders if they disguise a not very good quality wine. If you love curry go to the Bella Vita a few minutes walk away instead. It’s much better.

Family-owned, Michelin-rated - very special restaurant a bit outside the city - but definitely worth the taxi trip. The location looked beautiful - though we only got to see it at night under a blanket of snow. Would love to go back in warmer weather. There were two seasonal tasting menus on offer - each priced at ~100 Euros (not including wine, alcohol). Everything was delicious - we especially loved the soup medley. Service was very accommodating and attentive.

Really cute interiors, went because they had pourover coffee but their technique left something to be desired. The single origin coffee looked great on paper but the brew was a little over-extracted.

We ate three meals in the hotel and every one was better that expected. I especially enjoyed a dish of Eirschwarmel" mushrooms in a delicate cream sauce accompanied by knodels and a glass of delicious Wachau Valley Riesling. Breakfast was an extravaganza of delicious offerings...MoreDear Fraser M, many thanks for your positive feedback! Of course we are already looking forward to welcoming you again! With the kindest regards, The Gmachl family and the whole team

The restaurant is called quite simply “esszimmer” (“dining room”). Anything more would be superfluous, says star chef Andreas Kaiblinger. After all, the “real adventure happens in the cooking pot.”
This is all about the food and wines.
Nice place. Helpful staff.
White linen. Tables well apart.
Your mobiles and handbags get a side table too!
Not cheap but you are paying for the dining experience. Expect big white plates with food presented like works of art in a canvas.

The ambience is perfection, the food delicious, wine superb and the service exceptional.
This is not just great Italian food, this is outstanding food in general.

Visiting Salzburg, touring the castle, the Dome Cathedral, and various churches, and shopping, we stumbled into this "Konditorei", coffee shop! It is the quintessential neat and wonderful coffee shop one can imagine! The place is small, it has an excellent ambiance and a view of the city streets. We had cappuccinno coffees and a chocolate "kuchen" and a creamy Salzburg "kuchen." Delicious. It is very cozy in the shop and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffee break! The exterior of this Shatz- Conditorei Salzburg is very picturesque. We will be back to this coffee shop on our next visit!
