I must admit, this restaurant is not cheap but it's worth the visit, the food is great and the staffs are friendly, helpful and attentive. We always make a point to have our lunch there every time we visit Benicarló during the Fallas Festival in March for the pass two years. Revisited it in Oct over the long weekend and the waiter can still remember us!

I went with my family (my husband, my mom and my two kids). There were only 2 waitresses so the service was very very slow. We called before to reserve a table and to ask them to start preparing the paella, but they said they will do it only when we arrive. Ayer our arrival we waited several minutes to be attended and finally when we ordered we had to wait 20 minutes for the paella, as expected. We ordered also some chipirones that were ok. The croquetas for my daughter were very good.. But we went the for the paella and it was just average.

We had been staying in Peniscola for a few days and stumbled across this little gem when we went for a drive.
The degustation had a seafood theme and the wine was perfectly matched making this a wonderful experience and a very pleasant afternoon.
Isabelle and Pau have the whole concept of a top restaurant worked out and front of house was as impressive as the actual meal.
We were continually surprised by the standard of the meal and this will remain high on the list of memorable meals we have had on our 5 month trip through Europe.
Two tiny little comments though. 1. Maybe one meat dish among the seafood might tweak the whole experience. 2 please do something with the decor. The vertical blinds and the colour scheme do take the place down a notch or should I say back 20 or 30 years.
Overall a fantastic experience and one that we will always remember.

Nothing wrong with this restaurant but nothing to lift it above average. Very good, crisp, fresh salad but at €9 it should be. Gambas al ajillo, large prawns in hot garlic and chilli oil were plump and juicy but NO garlic and very little chilli. The delight of this dish, having eaten the prawns, is to use your bread to mop up the oil. In this case not worth doing! Calamares con Patatas bravas was OK, fish tender but again no spice on the potatoes. The service was good, the wine was good so it was a shame the food was underwhelming. Re the previous review: it is always better to eat paella at lunchtime, it is a traditional lunch dish. It always takes at least 30 minutes to cook.

The blue Mediterranean and the sand welcom the guest into this modern restaurant, with views of the formidable Peñiscola castle. Avant garde decoration of simple línes, built of concrete, steel, glass and wood. Traditional culinary proposals in every sense, the best raw ingredients, particularly local products -seafood, fish and rices-. Expert, knowledgeable service. Extensive and well structured wine list.
We ate here (alone!) on a Friday night in late October, when much of Benicarlo was closed.
It's in a modern cube-like box on the street with apparently no number.
Delicious little appetisers prefaced a tasty sea-food meal; I had cod bacalao as main and my wife had hake; both excellent.
The little old waiter was sad we were the only ones there........

We are never disappointed when we visit Trangol. Staff are excellent and food the same, whether a simple 'Menu del Dia or choosing from one of their other menus all including local produce from seafood to vegetables and meat.
On our last visit we had the Oriental Menu which we ordered in advance and thoroughly enjoyed.
It can get busy at weekends so best to book.

Located at the most northern end of Benicarlo and right by the sea Bar Mar Chica reminds me of the West Indies. One can sit in the open in the shade of trees of parasols and just relax with an ice cold beer listening to the waves washing up on the shore just a few feet away.
The food is simple but of good quality and value.
The service is excellent. The staff, especially James, are all friendly and attentive.

Visited last night for dinner and it was great. We tried the degustation menu which delivered a variety of tastes and textures; most of our dinner conversation was regarding which course we enjoyed the most!
In summary, quality food, efficient and friendly service and excellent value for money. If you find yourself in this area I would highly recommend a visit.

Located in Calle Boters, this little pizzeria with a small entrance and very fine pizzas, and a large choice; to eat there or to take away. friendly owner and service;
