Since it opened in 2002, Rocpool Restaurant ha become an effervescent Inverness brasserie with a loyal fan base. A cool contemporary decor with lots of bare wood and bold colours give a buzzy vibe to the restaurant which is situated in a prime site on the banks of the River Ness. The kitchen has a repotoire of eclectic modern dishes which use Scotland's matchless produce sprinkled with Mediterranean Sunshine, plus a pinch of exotic spice here and there.
This is the second time we have been there and both times left completely overjoyed. The food was amazing and could probably be one of the nicest meals I have ever had. The scallops with chorizo, and the pork belly were both amazing. Main courses consisted of venison, and the turbot with smoked fish risotto. Both were absolutely delicious (especially the turbot). The service was spot on. Very friendly staff. Slightly more expensive maybe than most other places but definitely worth the money. Can’t wait to go back.

We popped in to see what the evening meal menu was. Although the restaurant was fully booked, they went out of their way to fit us in.
Service was first class, and the food was excellent.
It is clear why you are better booking, this place is very popular.
Many thanks for an excellent meal.

RedPoppy Restaurant is an elegant restaurant situated on the main street in Strathpeffer. Featuring a varied evening menu with exciting dishes full of flavour, there is something for everyone. The evening menu changes regularly. RedPoppy Restaurant also offers a light lunch menu featuring the ever popular RedPoppy Club Sandwich as well as customer favourites chicken fillets with sweet & sour sauce and macaroni with garlic bread. RedPoppy Restaurant will seat between 50 and 60 guests and is a light, airy space with amazing paintings by local artist Nicola Macdonell.
Good food, big portions. Lovely staff.
Would have had 5 stars but our table top had been cut with a knive or similar leaving if scored , these scores had then turned black making it very unsightly and a germ collector. I used my napkin to cover the offending cuts. It should either be taken out of commission or have a table cloth over it or repaired completely. Apart from that, a good restaurant and good value.

Our opening hours are Monday to Sunday 12 noon to 10 p.m.
We had dinner and beers here after a 35 mile off road bike ride. Prawn cocktail followed by sirloin steak times 4 please. Then a cheeky wee apple pie for afters. Good quality and reasonably priced. After dinner, we went through to the bar and had a few beers. The bar staff were good craich (I'm sure our requests for silly shots will live long in the memory ... You're in the Highlands, drink like Highlander!).

For an authentic taste of Scotlands Islands and Highlands look no further than River House, a beautiful restaurant on the banks of the River Ness overlooking the Grieg Street bridge to the Free North Church. The restaurants spectacular views are complemented by the casual sophistication of the dining room, a comfortable and unpretentious space with timeless design and a warm, cosy atmosphere which invites you to relax and really enjoy your dinner. Dedicated to sourcing the best possible ingredients from the surrounding areas, the River House kitchen cooks each dish to order in the open plan kitchen, using fresh, seasonal produce prepared in such a way that individual flavours shine through. Though mainly Scottish in heritage the River Houses recipes also take inspiration from international cuisine with, in particular, a nod to French cookery woven in to many of the creative, modern dishes. Wines are carefully selected to complement the River House menu, providing a good, but not overwhelming, choice of labels.
Came for a family celebration meal. The food was brilliant, I could happily have chosen everything on the menu, we all ate different dishes and they were all fantastic. the service was very friendly and the cranachan martini was so amazing I had two.

Corner on the Square is a licensed delicatessen and eaterie overlooking the square in the historic village of Beauly. We offer a range of fine food and drink from up the road, round the corner and from across the globe. The welcome is unashamedly Highland and we look forward to greeting you soon!
I was the awkward customer who asked for a prawn Sandwich which was not on the menu. They delivered ....sauce on the side....perfect. Served with salad and dressing. I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side but it was okay as the dressing was as it should be...drizzled! ..not clarted! Coffee was lovely. Pate excellent.
The waitresses were all very pleasant and very helpful and so kind and patient with the few elderly folk in. It was a pleasure to see. The service was exceptional from the 3 young lassies that served us. Very attentive.
Super deli. Bought lots of yummy foods.
Definitely recommended. Definitely go back.

The worst food we've eaten for years. We made a terrible mistake going there and should have stuck to the advice of our host. It was suggested we should eat in the restaurant just across the road from Shimla. We wanted a choice of vegetarian and thought Simla had a better choice. Both my wife and myself choose vegetarians and the food was tasteless and abominable. The cauliflower (from frozen) was raw in the Aloo Gobi dish. The spinach paneer was awful and completely and devoid of any taste with big lump of paneer chucked in. We were charged £2 for two papadum. The entire meal was very expensive especially what was offered.

Very busy and popular restaurant right in the heart of the historical and lively village of Beauly. We have a traditional style restaurant, and for a quick pit stop we have a coffee and cake area attached. We also have a more budget offering in our Bistro, which is situated in our main bar. At the Priory we can provide transport to and from the restaurant for tables of 4 or more, within a 5 mile radius free of charge. Booking is highly recommended. The restaurant has full wheelchair access.
Service was reasonable but could of done with a little more attention...maybe this was due to the young staff. Seabass was delicious, not sure what happened to the wilted spinach....more crispy than wilted however overall dish was tasty. Disappointed with the Baileys cheesecake, seriously lacking...MoreGood Afternoon Karen. Thank you for taking the time to review, your constructive comments will be addressed and are sincerely appreciated. Kind Regards Stuart

Our restaurant provides delicious meals from fresh locally sourced produce. The vegetables we provide are grown in our own garden when possible. There is an emphasis on game and fish meals. We work closely with local farmers to get the best of what the region has to offer. We also have a "gun room" bar where you may enjoy the same delicious food in front of a wood burning stove.
Excellent service and delicious food. Had the smoked salmon, superb. Potted shrimps were very good. Venison crumble with leeks and bacon was also very good as was the stalkers pie. All cooked by Eliza. Ice creams were homemade and excellent, sea salt caramel and banana, raspberry ripple and lemon meringue.
