Båstad is a locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July. It's municipality follows a similar pattern. Some 15,000 permanent residents but more than 30,000 during July. Some villages within the municipality almost empty during the winter, but have more than a 2,000 "summer guests" during July. Torekov is a good example of this.

I´ve longed for the opening of our golf restaurant, the food and service there is excellent!
You start with a homemade soup and a nice buffe of salad and then chose between meat or fish as maincourse. and you only pay about 100 sek! One of the best lunch you can have.
The atmosphere is cosy and you can sit both inside or outside, and why not take your coffee outside in the Sunshine. A perfect way to finish your lunch!

Once again I must thank my friend Fredrik Pahlett for booking the room for me and my brother in this wonderful hotel in this very beautiful and unique little town...
We were there just the night of August 18th, but I will be back again for sure!
We were in room 237, at the Tennis Padillon building. Our room was not very big, but over all very nice and warm. Unfortunately we had no time to visit the spa, although we heard it is very nice! With Fredrik we had dinner here and it was wonderful: I loved very much my caviar as starter.
Breakfast buffet is just perfect, they even have my favorite super food: goji berries!
See you again soon!

Considering the location and their effort of trying to make it feel and look like a extravagant restaurant the food didn't represent that.
We had a package deal so the three course dinner was included. We had three choices of starters, three mains and two desserts. I had the duck for starter and it was good but not very interesting or innovative. I felt something was missing from the dish to give it a memorable kick. We all chose the meat for main and it was well cooked, three of us wanted it rare and one very well done. I was surprised about that the meat wasn't that tender. It was alright. It was served with a potato cake, red wine sauce and some mushrooms and baked pumpkin. There were way to little sauce, but when we asked we did get more free of charge, and the dish lacked salt. Specially the potato cake. For the dessert two of us chose the cheese and two the dessert (chocolate tart with orange). I think this was the best of the dishes.
As for the service it started out quite well but there was not any attention at out table when it came to filling up the watercontainer or asking us if we would like anything more to drink, any after dinner drinks or coffe. Every time we wished for something we had to fight a bit to get noticed. We still had a good dinner and since I didn't pay for the weekend package I do not know what price we payed for the dinner, but my expectations were not met.

Nice straightforward food. Good service. A salad buffet accompanies every dish. You will eat with people from the local old people's home, builders in the area, mothers and school children.

During the Seglarveckan we had a nice meal at Tapas. For sailors who have been ashore all day the portions were way to small! However nothing wrong with the taste. Small portions, high price but good taste!

This is a charming, small French bistro with good food and good service. The impression could be even better if the portions were smaller. Yes, I know you don't have to eat it all. But, still...
Grodlar & Timjan is together with Sand the two best options for a very good dinner in Bastad.

This hotel and restaurant is situated about 200 m from the cliffs of Hovs Hallar. It has a wonderful view and great surroundings with lovely walking areas. The food is swedish home cooking and almost everything comes from the farmers in the surroundings. Moderate prices. Large parking space.

Welcome to the new restaurant Hamnplats 3 on the quay in Bastad. A meeting place for planned and spontaneous moments of enjoyment of life and taste delight. In the best location we serve well composed dishes on our sober outdoor Seating right on the sea or in the restaurant with a marine theme. You can also buy with you shrimp and other delicacies home from our Deli or take an exotic rum drink in The Cove. The whole place breathes warm winds from Paris and the Riviera - it's where we drew inspiration. Warm welcome to our place at the quay!
Looked like a nice restaurant clean nicely decorated and in a lovely position on the quayside, but the food was overpriced not particularly exciting and though the waiting staff were very nice we encountered long waits between courses. Didn't live up to expectations.Hi carol, I'm sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations. I will personally look in to this. I hope that we will se you again and can live up to your expactations. Best regards /Robbin Almén

We had lunch and enjoyed the Moules, Fish and seafood hotpot, and the hand-peeled prawns, efficient service, nice location and good value dishes are hard to beat. Highly Recommended.
