Bertahofs is a beautiful restaurant. It's traditional with staff in Austrian dress. The staff are engaging and friendly and were really good at explaining the menu. There is quite a varied menu with many regional specialities. We all chose the pork knuckle. This dish comes with dumplings and sauerkraut. Each diner was given a bib before the meal which was humorous. The pork was very tasty and very big!! It is quite expensive but a nice treat.

Agriturismo/farmerhouse in Austrian style. Very small but very picturesque place. All is cooked in front of the client on the fire place. Foods are bio and the beer produced in the farm. I suggest this place for a very different and nice dinner mostly in the warm months: when you can eat under the stars in the open air! Medium/low price.

NON SMOKING RESTAURANT! We would like to offer our guests a selection of well-bourgeois, typical Austrian dishes. NEW in the Stubn: indoor play area, large children's menu, Trumer beer, Schneider Weisse, Keli Limonadess, free WLAN, Our family restaurant consists of a stubn for about 40 persons, a fondue "stüberl" for about 20 people, the "local people" area for about 15 people and a play area. At the "Fonduestüberl" we serve (min. 2 Pers.) on pre order on the same day serveral Fondues: * Meat Fondue, *Cheese Fondue, * Chocolade Fondue; In summer there is the sunny garden for about 30 people with a playground (a show, a slide, a sand box and toys). In front of the Stubn we have reserved 12 parking spaces for our guests! Warm food from 11:30 to 21:00; We are realy looking forward to welcome you, Angela Bachbauer und Christoph Zwittag
This restaurant is well located near bad hofgastein and bad gastein. It is a very nicely laid out restaurant and traditional in style. The staff were exceptional so welcoming and both spent time chatting and giving us recommendations. Four of us shared a mixed platter...MoreDear "Margaret F", thank you very much for your rating! We are happy, that you liked it so much we are realy looking forward to welcome you again! Heartly, Angela and Christoph

Very good restaurant – reasonable prices and you get so much food! Excellent for dinner with good portions and reasonably prices. We had to select from 2 types of meals from four courses menu. Congratulations the chef for nice decorated and very tasty dishes. The restaurant offers dinner for a 20 euros/person for outside guests (excluding drinks).

Two visits here in our week. Medium to large portions with probably too much frying going on compared to UK equivalents. I suspect it is done so as not to frighten the locals. Anyway, soups were very good and the stuffed pancake and lentil dishes were well flavoured. Wine selection is small and both times the prossecco aperitifs were flat with no explanation. The young (daughter?) speaks good english. The two rooms are light and airy and the place has a nice casual feel about it. Good coffee.

We went as a family on a busy Saturday evening. Although we had no reservation, the waitress was very helpful and arranged a table outside, where we could enjoy the great weather, sunset over the mountain and the sound of the stream .
I must say here, that the waiting staff are really nice. Always with a smile and willing to help (especially when there are kids involved).
the pasta dished were great and we enjoyed it so much that we came back on Sunday as well, when we tried the Pizza and were not disappointed :)
Comparing to London, the prices are really cheap (60£ for the whole family, including a salad, drinks and deserts).

Gastein Alm - die Alm im Tal auf 858 m in Bad Hofgastein - direkt am Schlossalmparkplatz.
The ski instructor suggested the place and i have to admit that the food was nice. the ambiance was also very nice. A wooden but also modern place you could visit for dinner and beers. However the service was really not so good. We order starters for the middle but never got plates to eat in despite asking and being promised. Also we asked for drinks and it arrived much later. Worse think they are confused to answer questions like... is this fried or grilled. It seams that the menu and the reality are not aligned. Despite all that we really had a great time and enjoyed the ambiance of the place!

Very traditional Italian, we got away with speaking Italian which was better than our German. Main course portion size (pasta/gnocchi) on the large size but the shared antipasto starter was very good. On our second visit we chose fish and beef fillet main courses with no started so we could try dessert - a much better solution. The fish was perfect and the beef /rocket /tomato combination worked well.
