This restaurant is on the main street through the old cité. It is surprisingly large, clean and quite informal.
The proprietor (who I think is the owner, manager, waiter and almost everything else besides the chef) was really helpful and friendly. The place was quiet (it was still fairly early) and we could choose where to sit. We were also provided with glasses and a bucket of ice, for us to put in a bottle that we bought with us.
The food was also good. The portions were generous, the salads were obviously fresh and both the tajines had good flavours.
This is not a fine dining restaurant but reasonably good food and great value.

This restaurant has been completely renovated and it has a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the food. Grilled squids were fine but the seafood mixture was only with shrimps and squids, of course fresh but tasteless. Then a dish of pasta with seafood and sauce was really bad. The pasta was overcooked and with a bad taste.

At least it looks posh. I've only had a coffee here and it was fine. If you do the same, try going right up to the top floor for a view over town, although parts of the view are not particularly wonderful.
There is an extensive restaurant section, but no one was eating when I went and as I don't eat where there is no or little trade (you need a fast turnover of food to ensure freshness) I doubt I'll ever try unless I see it heaving.
The service was correct and prompt.
I can't really say more except that normally I might prefer to eat and have coffee somewhere a bit more central and traditional.

As my photo shows from when I visited yesterday, it's bye bye Café do Mar. The indifferent service, frequent unheralded closures, interruptions in availability of buckwheat flour (which I can get any time I want without problem) and high prices seem finally to have done for this place whose only advantage was its location next to the Bab el Bahar.
They are telling people in the notice shown in my photo to go to the other cafe owned by the same people, but the "do Mar" concept has gone - crepes and galettes are no longer available.

We visited this restaurant as a large group. We were very well catered for, the food was amazing! Out of this world! The tagine and couscous were delicious, I doubt I would ever taste anything else like it. The belly dancing was also great. A few of our party were encouraged to join in, which was all good fun and very entertaining!

I stayed at the hotel of the restaurant. I had breakfast here, which was normal, albeit inconvenient for people staying in the main part of the hotel.
However, the evening meals are a fright. I was on business and this particular time I didn't want to explore around, although I do know some other nice places in town. The menu is very small, but this doesn't improve the excellence of the dishes. Quite the reverse. Nothing I had here could be said to be worthy of an expensive hotel. I think this is the real problem. When you're staying at a place that costs more than anywhere else in town, you expect far better than what you get here. If the same meals were served in some small, cheap place in town, you'd probably just say, well, it was OK. Being served trash at an hotel of this price and alleged standard really brings down the marks that could be given for the experience.
The chairs seem to divide people! Whether they have been in design magazines or not, they are totally out of place in a restored old building and clash with the carefully preserved old décor which is the only thing this hotel and restaurant has going for it.

We had the friture (fried fish) and a grilled seabass. Both of them where fresh but for the grilled seabass my wife needed to select from some other fish that weren't so fresh. Nevertheless what we had was good and the value for money is excelent. The service is also good.

A true local restaurant popular with locals. We asked the owner to keep our back bags whilst we visited the Medina. We had lunch and then tipped him. A nice experience.

We selected this restaurant because of its TripAdvisor rank but the experience was not one I want to repeat. We hadn't booked but there was availability and we were shown to a table amid fabulous contemporary art.
The restaurant itself was reasonably comfortable and clean. The host was very attentive but some of the other staff did not know what they were serving nor to which table! They would ask a question, listen to the answer, come back, ask the same question and then do something completely different or nothing at all!
With the exception of one dish, the food was overwhelmingly disappointing; average at best. The exception was the liver salad which was picked because it was so unusual more than anything else and was a real treat. Otherwise, the flavours were weak, the fish over-cooked, chips soggy and all main courses were served almost cold.
Maybe we just got a bad day but, given the prices, it was just not good enough.

I went here on the first day of opening with a Moroccan friend. It's taken a couple of weeks for the establishment to get listed.
It's new, so it's looking good. Additionally, it has been built and furnished in what I assume is a new style which, although it has to be standardised worldwide, doesn't look as terrible as the previous incarnations.
The food was, well, McDonald's! The same stuff that you'd find anywhere in the world, some of it adapted somewhat to local tastes.
The reason I am giving the place a four is the view. They have certainly chosen a spectacular position on the extended beach looking out over the bay and the waves. The restaurant has been built on an elevated position to allow good views from the Terrace. The whole area is slated to become a holiday village with shops, restaurants, chalets and hotels which probably explains why they built here rather than in town. However, I cannot imagine that the residents of the exceedingly expensive gated community next door are happy with their new neighbours.
There are children's facilities and although it is not yet open, there will be a drive through.
I've been there once and I doubt I shall return unless I am nagged and nagged at by my far more enthusiastic friend. That's just me though. I hadn't been to a McD for years before this visit!
