Ashkelon (/ˈæʃkəlɒn/; also spelled Ashqelon and Ascalon /ˈæskəlɒn/; Hebrew: אַשְׁקְלוֹן [aʃkelon]; Arabic: عَسْقَلَان ʿAsqalān) is a coastal city in the Southern District of Israel on the Mediterranean coast, 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Tel Aviv, and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) north of the border with the Gaza Strip. The ancient seaport of Ashkelon dates back to the Neolithic Age. In the course of its history, it has been ruled by the Ancient Egyptians, the Canaanites, the Philistines, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Phoenicians, the Hasmoneans, the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs and the Crusaders, until it was destroyed by the Mamluks in 1270.

We went there by chance - just to spend time and to have a breakfast. It turned to be an enjoyment. You seat close to the sea, feeding fishes, on a comfortable chair under umbrella. The typical breakfast includes eggs, big salad, three kinds of cheese, olives, tuna, jam, fresh bread, juice, coffee. Service is prompt. Highly recommend!

Nice restaurant. Options for indoor and outdoor dining. Italian cuisine. Friendly staff. Music a little loud .All in all, a pleasant night out.

We were looking for a good place to celebrate a personal event and see a sunset over the sea. Ashkelon was close enough to were we live - for the view but until now we have not found a half decent restaurant in this town. Like in many other town there are many new restaurants, mostly kosher (not good for a Saturday event) and mostly bad. We found Linda on TA and decided to have dinner there and see the Sunset somewhere else. Linda was a lovely surprise. The food was excellent - we had a “sebiche” apetizer and a combination of beef and lamb item - both very very good. The sebiche is the local variety of marinated fish not the original Peruan dish but it was very good. Ve had also a first class chocolate cake + ice-cream dessert. The wine list was quite short and too modest. Service was very good and friendly except the reception - there was nobody to get us in. The restaurant setting is clean but not very nice - we planned an outside dinner but that did not look good at all at Linda and the interior is that of a poor coffee house. I hope they will improve the setting (and the wine list). We will definitely come again.

Asian restaurants aren't very common in southern Israel (maybe except sushi) therefore Furama, making business for many years in residential neighborhood in the south is a rare place. We had Sichuan pork which was delicious, one portion with 2 rice dishes was enough for two. Tasty food and good service.

Went there already twice and will definitely come back. The first time I followed the GPS and couldn`t find it until I realized that it`s a typical Irish Pub. Happy hour for beer starting from 5pm (?) til 8pm. Very nice atmosphere inside! Professional perfect service in any way. I like fine dining once in a while but have also a weakness for good burgers. These burgers are awesome!

The Archie is situated just a few steps away from the blue waters of Delila beach in Ashkelon, Israel. The spectacular panoramic view offers a breathtaking sight on sailing boats, surfers and the sunset at the recently renewed seafront. We hope to encourage the developing culture of drinking beer in Israel by offering a variety of over fifty beers for every taste together with a carefully chosen selection of whiskeys. Come to discover the best local craft beers or choose from one of our sixteen draft beers. The restaurant offers top-notch European and American cuisine blended with fresh local ingredients. The menu includes a selection of tapas and tasty snacks along with main dishes served as classic breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as phenomenal homemade desserts. All this contributes to create a fantastic atmosphere for families or sitting together with friends till the wee hours of the morning. Easy to access also for handicapped, close by parking. Enjoy!
burgers were ok , no special dressings, Gouda cheese , a slice of low quality processes cheese , would not make an effort to go there but if you are in Ashqelon its OK ' service on that Friday at 12.00 was not good , as if we were disturbing their peace and quiet !

We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and wanted everything to be special and memorable. This was rated as a really good one-- on google-with the word "birthday" under the rating.
I was impressed with the name "MAI WAY" as a takeoff of Frank Sinatra's famous song:
"I DID IT MY WAY "There was cool humor and a hip play on words in this place from the get go!
From the moment you walk in to a very tasteful, low key oriental, island atmosphere
with wait staff really waiting to seat and serve you as they greet you warmly, you know you have made the right decision!Food of anyone;s dreams with a massive variety of appetizers that could be served as the meal itself!
A waiter appeared before you knew you needed him or her (even division of sexes!)
without being obtrusive.
A constant flow of guests----single couples and many single sex parties to celebrate different events----quite a few families with well behaved young children.
Everyone chatting and interacting without cell phones!
Soft low key music in the background----and such fanciful and humorous drinks and cocktails! Mine had a good size red lollipop as a mixer!
The birthday presentation was with FOUR waitstaff(2 males& 2 females) singing with gusto and carrying a very special platter which I had pre-ordered upon our entrance
without my husband's knowledge---they remembered without being reminded!
This was a real highlight to our three day birthday vacation in Ashkelon after an 8 year absence.Oh, and it's kosher too!
Worth going back for this place!

As others have said, this place is packed with customers and fresh flavours. Everything has just come out of the oven and the coffee is good. Breakfast is very filling and their bakery range is large.

Ziara is an average restaurant with a spectacular view. It’s located right on the seashore overlooking the marina in Ashkelon. I had lunch with a group of 20 friends, and we had a limited number of selections to choose from, so I can’t really judge the full menu. However, I can say that what we had was tasty and the service was very good, especially considering the size of our group.
I gave the restaurant 4 pips – 3 for the food, and the fourth pip is for the view.

Since my last review (2014) Anona relocated to a larger facility in a residential neighborhood in Ashkelon. We enjoy it more than ever before. The place is tastefully decorated and much more comfortable. The food is better than ever and the coffee is incredibly good. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a dairy restaurant and vegetarians and vegans will be pleased by the menu. Still a gem of a place!
