The best location for a driving break, rest and feed for someone who leaves Austria or Germany. Gas station with good fuel Price and large parking. Interesting souvenir shop, with a large variety of products. A place where many people do break and refuel. Clean place with very good services. Very friendly and nice staff.

This restaurant has a wonderful old world inn feel and look.
We had paprika soup, the asparagus soup, the schnitzel and a traditional boiled beef dinner with orange and yellow carrots with horseradish.
We enjoyed all of it and it was a perfect topper to a long day of site seeing.

I called into the Restaurant as it was close to the site I was working, we arrived about 12:30 and the location was very busy. The venue is remote and lovely setting, we where seated promptly and presented with an im pressive menu, it has lots of local dishes and the staff are dressed in traditional Austrian dresses. I had a local soup to start which was nice, and steak with a side of salad.
Service and quality of food was good and would be worth a re visit.

The team are well trained, welcoming - but don't smother you, service is efficient.
I would suggest that they take a little time to explain the menu, highlight some dishes.
Good selections of bottled wines, but limited by the glass.
Starters were sublime, my goats cheese, figs and beetroot was to die for 10/10
Mains all well presented and my MIL & FIL loved their ragout. My husbands fish was lovely. But here is where the kitchen was out of touch. They had an 80s flashback and cooked the meat medium-well? I didn't even think to ask to cook my dish MedRare - as a restaurant of this caliber shouldn't serve it any other way. My daughters was the same. Beautiful cut of meat destroyed by 4-5 mins too long in the pan. My dish was also missing a side?? So disappointing - everything else was outstanding.
The kitchen need to either tell the servers to communicate that the meat is cooked medium-well and ask if you prefer it differently. Or the kitchen need to get the meat on track Medium-Rate!
We will definitely be back.

When I lived in Grein, a visit to Schörgi was always a treat. They have an excellent choice of breakfasts, snacks for lunch (my favourite vegetable burgers with salad and a lovely sauce), drinks, cakes, and of course their well known homemade ice cream. Right by the Danube you get some nice views too, especially in summer when you can sit outside.

I go to Kastner regularly for business, i have never been disappointed, very creative and modern cuisine, you'll enjoy delicate and tasteful meals there, in a modern and design atmosphere. Very good wine menu, let the waiter guide you if you're not sure what to pick, Austrian wines are very good. This restaurant is more expensive than most others in the area, but it clearly stands out,

The place is easy but confortable, kind people (even if english is not a spoken language unfortunately) and the food is really good. 4 people just 23 euros! Perfect place to take some rest with a good traditional plate

Hidden, but nicely located a 5 minutes' drive south of the Danube, this traditional Austrian restaurant is a favourite among locals. The trout fish, which is the speciality of this place, is fresh and produced locally. Great wine list with wines of high quality instead of big names.

We are a traditional & original Hotel & Restaurant. We have lovely single/Double/Family Rooms and Apartments, we served nicely food all day long. We are happy to welcome everyone also just for a drink or a small stop at a rainy day.

We had a business lunch at the restaurant in this 'castle'... The cuisine is Austrian, nothing to say about that, the menu is quite clear about it. We were practically the only customers and were encouraged to have some of this and maybe more of that on top of our order. The curry / apple soup tasted mainly of cocos-milk, the horseradish sauce with my tafelspitz (boiled beef) was non-existent and the beef was not tender as I would expect from, indeed, boiled beef... Service was good, food was average, the bill democratic, however, I would not recommend the location unless you do have any way out (as was my case).
