The Los Caballos Restaurant is located in the region of Guadalhorce, in the municipality of Álora and about 25 minutes from Malaga. With our friendly and welcoming restaurant is decorated with rustic motifs offering Andalusian cuisine and can stand out from among the menu items Roasted Chicken firewood, fresh salad or our tasty grilled meats. All this in a single location and with a nice Terrace to enjoy the views.
Stopped here for light lunch with grandchildren. They had pork fillets, my wife had pork brochette and I had pork steak which was enormous. We all had chips. Followed by ice cream white magnums for girls and lovely strong coffees for us. The pork was...MoreThank you!

We had coffee here in the morning, then popped back in the evening without a booking. The service was very professional, brochetta were very tasty and freshly prepared - a bit of a wait, but that proves the freshness. A great place to drink and eat a a VERY reasonable price.... and generally chill!

One of my favourite places, as it is close to home as well.
It is situated in a very nice location with fantastic view over the Mountains and valley. Service is always superb and very attentive to our needs. If you ask for something special, they will try to make it for you.
Food is very good with big portions, so no excuse for being hungry after a meal.
I recommend this place with honour.

You will enjoy delicious traditional cuisine at our Restaurant, prepared with exquisite local products, perfect for both the hearty food lover as well as those following a healthy diet. La Garganta Restaurant is a member of a select group of restaurants and food companies of the Club Gastronómico Saborea Guadalhorce (Guadalhorce Gastronomical Club), Algarbia cuisine, committed to offering cuisine strongly attached to our land and made with our products which are grown and picked by our men and women; a cuisine found nowhere else… and the one you will always want to go back to.
There is a good restaurant in here somewhere. We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and were a "captive audience".
Firstly, the dining room was cold, people were wearing fleeces.
The food frustratingly could have been good with a bit more care as mentioned in previous posts. The tempura was greasy, the lasagne bland and cool in the middle, the vegetables were overcooked and watery.
On the plus side the sauce with the chicken and prawn was delicious and the goats cheese with nuts was very tasty.

Tried out Casa Abilio over Easter . We had the steak to share, and the pulpo in a ginger mayonnaise . Both meals were very good , accompanied by a bottle of Rioja. Service and surrounding both good , worth a visit if in Alora.

Excellent value in this impeccable clean and friendly Chinese restaurant. Have been a few times over the last few visits and have never been disappointed. Their set menus are particularly good value. Portions are not enormous (as in some UK places) but are ample.

If you are looking for cheap and excellent tapas, De Knas is the place to go! I visit De Knas every year and have never been disappointed. I always get their fried aubergine with honey and croquetas. The meat selection is absolutely delicious too.
The quality of the service really depends on how busy the restaurant is, but it's quiet fast and the waiter are not intrusive.

We stopped here recently for a quick bite to eat late on a Saturday afternoon. The place was bunged as there must have been a large family party but we were served quickly and the food was very good.
We shared a mixed grill platter which would have fed 4 people easy! The meat was tender and very tasty. Only gripe was the Spanish customers smoking area seemed to be just where we were seated....very loud and aggressive. Maybe that area needs to be moved.
Apart from that lovely meal and would definitely go back.

After climbing the narrow streets to visit the Moorish castle in Alora, we were a tad hungry! The entrance, down a flight of stairs, was not promising, but we found ourselves in a large airy room with about 20 tables. Being early by Spanish standards, we had the place to ourselves when we arrived, so we chose a table by the window. We ordered a glass of beer and a glass of wine while we looked at the menu - €7.30 for a three course meal! We also ordered a bottle of house red. There was no written bill but the waiter charged us €23. We'd eaten extremely well and left very contented.
