Alloway (Gaelic Allmhaigh, pronounced [aɫ̪avaj]) is a conservation village that is now a suburb of Ayr. It is best known as the birthplace of Robert Burns and the setting for his poem "Tam o' Shanter". Tobias Bachope, the mason responsible for the construction of Hopetoun House, Craigiehall, and Kinross House, also hailed from Alloway.

Visited with family on a busy Friday afternoon and would highly recommend.
Great special lunch time offer but also main menu and specials available too.
Food was outstanding, great portion size and well presented.
The children’s meal is great value for money and a great selection.

We had the most brilliant evening at the Hogmanay Ball. Staff were fantastic!
Food was excellent, fiddle band that played throughout our meal were brilliant, Verona, the main band, were quite something! Playing nearly all decades of music, along with some ceilidh dance, they had everyone up dancing all night. But, the highlight for me was the pipe band! Wow!
Brig O Doon, I have got to congratulate you on your staff, what a fantastic, friendly bunch of young ladies and men! They are a credit to you!
The only thing that sort of let it down (only a little complaint really) was the little steak pies and sausage rolls that were served after the bells. I feel that these may have been heated up in a microwave as the steak pie pastry was soggy and the sausage roll pastry quite tough. This is only a tiny complaint for an otherwise fantastic evening and did not spoil our night in any way.
A big thank you to all of you for making our night so memorable.

Visited on a business trip instead of eating in the Western House Hotel where we were staying. Had a tempura battered chicken dish. The batter was far too thick when compared to traditional tempura so was stodgy. May be my choice but not well execured. Staff were very good but the menu needs a rethink. Most italians I visit at home execute every dish well. Stick to traditional italian dishes.

We have just enjoyed another fabulous meal at the Chestnuts. The food is always great, the staff very friendly and welcoming and we find it difficult to go anywhere else as the standards here are excellent. There is definitely something for everyone as the extensive menu caters for all. As a non meat eater I can highly recommend the vegetarian burger which is the best I have ever had. Can't wait to return,

Ayr India Restaurant In Ayr is well established and prides itself on quality authentic Indian cuisine and has the enviable position of having 2 beautiful restaurants in the heart of the seaside town. The long established Sea front restaurant, which is open daily from 4pm and more recently the restaurant in Alloway Place which is open for lunch as well as evening meals.
We drove 40 mile round trip for a meal on New Year's Day, as a family of 4, not dissapointed. Chicken chasni best we ever tasted, also the tandoori chicken was delicious. Not a fancy restaurant above a beachside shop, but located a stones throw from the beach. The very best thing apart from the food is the service, so friendly and interest in where you have travelled from, was clear at our visit several people eating were frequent visitors, as they were clearly known to the waiters. Great food good prices around £10 for a main meal with rice. We were offered complimentary drinks but were so full we had to decline. Won't wait long to return.

We believe the service, surroundings, atmosphere and quality of food are of equal importance, it is this attention to detail that ensures we are the first choice for many locals and visitors, the high number of returning customers speaks for itself. Ayr India - First Class.
Would like to praise Ayr India yet again after treating my wife to lunch recently. Excellent food and great service from Sunny. Keep up the good work guys & we'll see you soon.

Su Casa takes inspiration from the Australian coffee culture. Our coffee is ethically sourced, high grade arabica which is roasted on the premises. We offer a wide selection of coffees, teas and organic soft drinks; we have a small selection of sandwiches and soups, and changing daily cakes.
Went here on Friday afternoon as I normally do when coming to Ayr and couldn't believe the changes
Cafe was almost empty at a peak time and no greeting whatsoever from staff
I saw that there were no cakes in fridge and menu was very limited. Still no recognition from waitress so we went elsewhere
This was my go to place in Ayr but won't rush back
I can only assume it has been bought over or has completely new staff

Had a lovely family get together on Sunday and went for tea. Things went from great to bad very quickly. A waiter thought he would memorise six starters and main meals, and asked twice for our order. Starters arrived, one order missed therefore sat watching everyone eat, then gave toasted bread on a gluten free order, when I questioned if this bread was gluten free was told not sure!!! The plate was taken away and quickly returned with gluten free oatcakes, the plate wasn’t exchanged and the remains of the toasted bread left on the plate with the oatcakes on top. My daughter was very ill when returning home!! The meals themselves were tasty and we were compensated with six soft drinks that had been ordered. I didn’t complain but I assumed the waitress knew I was annoyed. Perhaps education on the importance of dietary requirements should be priority.

Was with my family for a special "big" birthday meal, Have eaten here quite often and have enjoyed my meals and therefore didn't hesitate to book for this special occasion. I chose halibut for my main course but it was definitely overcooked and dry and did not taste as it should.I would also add that my starter of mushroom filled with black pudding was also overcooked. I did mention to the waitress but there was no come-back. I will not be rushing back for any family meal here. Really disappointed!

Meridian is a bright, spacious and central cafe, bar & bistro that serves contemporary food and stylish cocktails in chic cosmopolitan surroundings.
Went here for breakfast yesterday on family recommendation and were not disappointed. Despite being 9-30 in the morning, the Cafe was rapidly filling up. The breakfast menu has a good variety of choice, with light and vegetarian options and at the other end of the scale a Breakfast Buster option that has to be seen to be believed. The service was very good, despite being busy and when the food came, it was piping hot, nicely presented and on a piping hot plate. It tasted as good as it looked, with not a drop of grease or fat in sight. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be returning for more of the same in the very near future.
