We stopped by just before midday and chose the set lunch menu. The food arrived promptly just before the restaurant filled up, both with locals and tourists. We chose to sit inside, though there are tables outside. The first course was mushroom soup, followed by...MoreHi Robyn, Thank you for your review, we are really grateful for it. great to hear that you liked our special that day! Good food at a reasonable price for Iceland. But wasn't that inspired...had the daily special which included a tomato soup and Mexican lasagna for 1800 isk which was ok. Also ordered the lobster soup, which was unusual in that it had white chocolate but it was runny, not that flavorful with small tough bits of lobster.

We found this place by chance or rather lock of other options. We started our day in Reykjavik right after breakfast and none of us though about stopping at the store to pick up some things for lunch. After driving for couple of hours, getting to our destination Glymur Falls and three hour hike we were starving! Since this was the first place we have passed by we did not want to take a chance for not eating for another few fours.
And what a surprise! In this restaurant food was fresh, made to order and delicious. Between four of us we have ordered fish of the day, ham and cheese Sandwich and couple of burgers - all was freshly made and very tasty.
This restaurant is clean and worth recommendations, especially if this is your first time in Iceland and you are looking for place to eat before or after hiking Glymur Falls or just in the area.

We popped into this cafe and to make a few calls book a hotel and use the wifi whilst having a coffee.
Our phone didn't work so the owner/employee was AMAZING. He gave us his phone, we made 10 calls. He rang 3 hotels for us plus we followed him to a hotel. So nice. We gave him some cash for the phone which he didn't want to take. The coffee were sensational as was the carrot cake. POP IN!,

The effort put into the food is very low and I can honestly say that I've tasted the same dishes elsewhere.
The waiter is very pushy and often tried to push me to buy more than what I asked for or misunderstood my order and always tried to get me to buy the expensive option.
If you're hungry and willing to put up with the hassle, it's a solid thai restaurant but don't make any expectations regarding taste.

We stopped in while visiting the lighthouse in Akranes. I love baked goods and this place did a number of things right. The cinnamon bun was covered in chocolate (other flavours available) and that was the best part. There wasn't enough cinnamon or butter. However, the caramel donut and chocolate chip cookie were fantastic. In fact, the cookie might be the best I've ever eaten. I wish I had bought more! Excellent quality and the prices were very reasonable.

Called for a coffee and a local pastry -nice friendly staff ,offering sandwiches, cakes and soup, the place has the usual tables and chairs but also some casual relaxing chairs where y can hang out and watch the world go past the square .
