The real home of the Mediterranean diet. Our Cilentan kitchen is closely linked to the Mediterranean diet, a typical nutritional model of the ancient Cilento. The first to notice the benefits of a diet based on the products of the Cilento, and also on his way of life, it was the American Dr. Ancel Keys, who reported in his book "Eat well and stay well, the Mediterranean way" the reasons why these foods, and the way of living, they might makes more long-lived the humans. The main characteristic of the Cilentan cooking is quick, simple and full of passion for tradition. The fresh and selected ingredients, such as fish, vegetables, herbs, grains, olive oil, cheese, wine and fruit together with the famous buffalo mozzarella in the land of Paestum, are, braids, the secret ingredients of the Mediterranean diet. The fresh fish that arrives daily in our kitchens, tuna, anchovies, sardines, amberjack, snapper, bream, gurnard fish, redfish, shrimp, cuttlefish, octopus rock, which is abundant in our seas, is the main product of our dishes.
We are sailing through the Med and have been to many lovely port towns including this one. However, the dining experience at this restaurant has beat them all. Not only was the food fabulous, they had many dishes that sounded amazing but all four of us chose the homemade pasta with vongole, but in addition the atmosphere and the local people were genuine. We stayed until way past midnight and wanted to call a cab instead of walking back to port and instead the owner insisted on driving us home. This is a must and we will definitely return.

This is undoubtedly one of the places where you could eat the best pizza accompanied by the best atmosphere ever.
On top of the medieval village of Agropoli, this pizzeria is located exactly in the center of the square, easily recognizable by the many wooden benches arranged. The pizza you order in the store, in a small box shop, within which there is only the oven and pizza chefs kneading. The wait is quite long given the amount of people, the seats are not numbered, so it's best to find one if you want to eat sitting down, otherwise you may eat standing up. The pizza is served in small baskets, wicker baskets look like, cut already sliced and ready to be eaten, I can assure you it is a unique and so delight.
Said that, and emphasizing the goodness of this pizza and the fantastic location, the prices are really low, I don't remember the exact prices for each pizza, but I remember perfectly I have had dinner with 6 friends with 6 pizzas and drinks for everyone and we have payed less than 30 €uro.
The only downside of this place are the long waits, especially on summer evenings, but it's worth it trust me.

Words cannot express how amazing our dining experience was here. The restaurant is very simple… Very vocal… But the best meal that we had in our three weeks in Italy. From the service to the attention that we got, from the delicious meals that were carefully prepared to the fresh ingredients that were used, I will be thinking about this restaurant until I return to Italy. The pasta fagioli tasted like my Nonna's. Can't find that anywhere. Pizza was the best we had on the whole trip. They made a special pesto pasta for my young daughters. They liked the plates. The vegetables we chose for appetizers were incredible. I can't wait to go back here.

After walking up to the castle on a very hot day we found Arricria just opening up in the afternoon. Ice cream choice wide and good quality and very reasonably priced. Owner extremely pleasant. Well worth the stop!

Opening days: from September 15 to June 1, we are open in the evening, Friday Saturday and Sunday. At lunch only on Sundays and reservation is required. Our pizza:is the result of careful research aimed at enhancing the flavors of Cilento. The dough, natural leavening, is composed of a mixture of four different types of flours that makes it particularly tasty and at the same time lightweight and highly digestible, thanks to the presence of buckwheat flour. It is cooked in a wood oven, started with bundles of olive and "munnuliato" with myrtle leaves "a murtella" in the finest tradition of Cilento, to bring out the aromas. Our dishes:you will not find a set menu but are always different, depending on the fresh produce sourced and the inspiration of the kitchen chef. We are available for private parties and receptions.
Not really sure why they call in pizzeria here on the front page. They make pizza but there is so much come to come for. First of all it's an escape from stone town to the hill with fantastic view and fresh air (make sure you take some wrap or long sleeves with you to feel comfortable). The tables on the terrance are simply great, very quite and peaceful place. The cuisine is very special. By saying that I mean that generally food in Italy is delicious but very simply cooked and served. Here it's not at all simple, all is cooked and served by very creative and professional crew. The portions are large so be careful! We'll definitely come back.

delightful seafood restaurant in the middle of a busy little piazza, which hums as the night draws on. Great fresh seafood and if you are prepared to leave your comfort zone on the menu you will be rewarded with delicious new discoveries. Good wine, recommended

Our host at La Civetta (small hotel) recommended that we try restaurant Cozzechella on the Lungo Mare San Marco in Agropoli for local sea food. It's an unpretentious setting on the sea-front in Agropoli town. Plastic table cloths and slightly cramped Seating but the seafood is extensive, well cooked and our visit was an all round enjoyable experience. The service was attentive and the guy spoke enough English to help us with the menu. We washed the food down with large glasses of local red wine and then retired to the trendy bar at the Hotel Serenella (a few doors away) to while away a few hours of the warm Italian evening.
