This museum was created in remembrance of the January 15th through 17th meetings on these premises of the Chinese Communist Party. Here the leaders developed a survival and war strategy which would see them through a Long March, which commenced in October 1934 and which would end in October 1935. During the meeting, it was agreed that Mao Zedong would become the leader of both the Chinese Communist Party and its army.
Today, people take bus tours of the Long March of The Chinese Red Army. There are numerous historical sites, museums, and monuments along the route commemorating the 6over 6,400-kilometre march. The soldiers went through swamps, marshlands, across Mountains, rivers, and lakes were often attacked by enemy forces both from the ground and planes in the air.
Reviews of this location appear under two TripAdvisor headings: Zunyi Meeting Site with 32 reviews, and Zunyi Meeting Memorial Museum, with 15 reviews. I’ll insert mine on the former, as contains about twice as many reviews. That said, I think the best heading would be Zunyi Meeting Memorial Museum.

The climb isn't as bad as it looks, and the monument is impressive. The path from there across the mountain is a lovely, paved and well-maintained walkway, with frequent benchs to stop and enjoy the trees and fresh air. On the far side you will descend into a lively street market, and end up at a busy street with lots of taxi traffic.
