Yekaterinburg is the thinking tourist's city, jam-packed with libraries, theaters and museums, plus seemingly out of place monuments that pay homage to entities like Michael Jackson and a keyboard. The beautiful Yekaterinburg Circus building is an intricate lace dome that arches over seating for 2600 spectators.

I choose this restaurant for it's good TA rating. No doubt, the food served is good. Unfortunately, this quality is deserved by a very poor table management. Cold dishes arrive first, whatever they are first or second ones. Then arrive the warm ones, whatever you have finished your starter or not. I had a party of four, no one got his plate in harmony with the others and we had no other feeling than to be pushed to the check. Poor image if you are with clients, confusing and not funny if you are with friends. As to wine advises, it's better to follow your own feelings in order to avoid to be charged for an expensive red vinegar. It was not an experience I would renew. There are much better places in Ekaterinburg.

An important part of Ekaterinburg's restaurant history, one of the oldest and largest Czech restaurants in Russia, a trusted establishment for admirers of delicious home cooking and simply another place to drink fresh cold beer - all this is Pan Smetan.
We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, very comfortable and they had live music (it was a Friday evening). I tried a few different kinds of beer and our table shared a sausage platter, great beer and I was very impressed with the quality of the sausages. Definitely the perfect place to meet friends for dinner and drinks.

Having opened this institution in 2004, we told Ekaterinburg that England is not only oatmeal for breakfast and tea exactly at 5 every night. It is a country of delicious drinks, hearty food, Victorian pubs and round-the-clock fun. We started with whiskey. A large collection of single malt Scotch whiskey, which then was not in anyone in the city. And beer - good Irish stouts, Porters, ales and lagers, whose fans began to visit us at least once a week and bring bosom friends, smiling girlfriends and foreign guests. In fun we do not deny! Here, in the historical center of the city, to this day, songs are heard in all languages, dances are performed in incredible courage, and office employees at early dinners meet those who are just beginning their late breakfasts - the logical (and pleasant) end of last night.
Cosy pub that has Kilkenny beer on tap. The food is tasty and not too expensive, while the service is friendly and efficient. It is just across the road from the small Chapel of St Catherine, so the perfect place to stop for a drink...MoreDear ECVP! Thanks for your warm comment. We will glad to see you again. The foundation of our menu are strong traditions of beer gastronomy and simple food served in large portions. We grill traditional and original sausages of our own making and bake real pretzels ourselves. With pork supplied by the best local farmers, we cook mind-blowing foreshank with a crispy crust and sugary ribs. And, of course, we offer to the connoisseurs our Ural pickled delicacies.
Visited this restaurant for the third time during last week. The sausage dishes are fantastic! Best beer is Ratskellers own lager. The two earlier times I have been here me and my wife have tried to order the appfelstrudel for dessert, both times getting as answer that it is sold out. This time we did not try to order it because we were allready to full from the big dishes. Personell nice and polite, does not speak english thou. MasterCard and Visa ok. Diners not accepted.

Everyone I met today (no matter local or tourist) recommended me this place so it must be good. I had a lamb liver shish kebab, ajapsandal (vegetable ragout with stewed eggplant, tomatoes and sweet pepper seasoned with spicy herbs), kharcho soup with veal (amiran kharshiladze's...MoreDear Norris H. Glad to hear some warm words from our foreigner guests. Next time you must try our traditional bakery! Hope we will met again. Best regards!

I ate in this Nigora chain restaurant by Geologicheskaya metro twice. I rarely come back, unless I like it. The place is always full. You can order half portions, something that newcomers don't know. Real Uzbek cuisine - good meat, lots of onion (at least in manty). That's how they should be made.

We’re back in Yekaterinburg for another summer vacation of visiting family members. We had our party of eight family gathering at our favourite Yekaterinburg restaurant, Pashtet. Russian noble cuisine arose in the walls of large hospitable houses from the traditions of the centuries-old gastronomy of our country and the classics of French cuisine, which was brought in by invited foreign cooks. In modern Yekaterinburg, this atmosphere of hospitality and high style is embodied in the restaurant "Troyekurov" - a two-story mansion at the exit of Malyshev Street. Sometimes here there are presidents and prime ministers, often there are well-known businessmen and people of art, receptions and celebrations, gastronomic festivals and children's holidays are held, but more often just friendly meetings and quiet family dinners.
After my wife, who is Russian, and I read through almost every restaurant review in Yekaterinburg and searched through a limited number of websites, we finally settled on Troekurov for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday party.
We even went to the restaurant to see it, speak to the manager to set the menu and talk to the person responsible for wine. It is this person that, at least for me, spoiled what was a very nice afternoon.
I was a wine investor in the US before moving to Italy and have a nice collection of Italian wines in our cellar so I know a little about wine.
I asked to see the wine storage and was shown into a relatively small but adequate, temperature controlled area. I had looked at the wine list prior to the arrival of this person so I had an idea of what I wanted to serve at the lunch. Each wine from the list I asked about had to be ordered from a distributor. What kind of restaurant puts wine on a list that they do not have? And, since it was Friday afternoon, it was not possible to get any of my selections.
Because of this, I was forced into accepting the recommendations of the wine person who guaranteed that his choices were as good as mine. Probably the strangest thing about the recommendation was that the three corks were of different lengths.
Come the day of the lunch, the wine he had selected was available (three bottles for seven people which I though was sufficient). But it was not so he brought out a bottle of New Zealand Pinot. He cleverly hid the screw cap on the bottle because he knew that if I saw it, I would never allow him to open it.
Needless to say, it was not very good and then he had the audacity to try to open another bottle of that plonk when the first one was empty. I refused it. I was lucky that he allowed me to open a bottle of Ferrero Piemonte Sparking Chardonnay to serve with the cake. He refused my request to open a bottle of Ferrero Piemonte Moscato to end the afternoon.
Other than this, which the family, except for my wife, was unaware of, the service was very good, the food was well prepared and presented and the atmosphere was very nice.
I would strongly recommend the restaurant but stay away from the wines!

Another great TripAdvisor find. Nice staff, lovely food and very happy with our visit here. Menus were available in English; we sat in the outside area and were most content. Bathrooms were spotless which is always a good sign!
