Janosikove Diery Gorge is one of the most beautiful hiking trails not only within National Park Mala Fatra, but the whole Slovakia and Central Europe. It is located in nature reservation Rozsutce and the valley river is forming numerous Waterfalls and rocky formations. The hiking in this valley is possible via imposant wooden Bridges and ladders.
Nice trip for whole family. Anybody from 3 till .., Just really not for very small kinds and elderly, handicaped - you have to climbed some large stones. Nice views from hills above the place. Facilities as parking, restaurants, bistro all there. Nature wonderful.

Beautiful, photogenic castle visible from faraway. Absolutely best attraction of Orava region. Visit in winter takes 1,5h and during main season can take more than 2 hours. With or without kids, nice place. In the winter take warm clothes as inside can be more cold than outside :-)

Caves are natural treasure of Slovakia and if you're skiing in nearby Jasna resort, go and see this one. The tour takes about one hour and the interior decorations of the caves are beautiful. It's a short hike from the parking lot to the cave entrance, so plan some time reserve before the time of your visit and check cave schedule for tour times.

Ski resorts in summer are a curious place, still busy still active but lacking the thing that makes them what they are, snow. These places need to do something else to create a new summer identity and other than the scenery and the Rotunda Restaurant it needs something.
The place is stunningly beautiful despite the building and investment work going on. The facilities are good and the network of chairlifts, funicular Railways and cable cars get you round the mountain quickly and easily. It is a magnificent place with views that are sublime!
It needs something like a network of mountain bike trails or downhill runs to give it a real identity all year round..... I'd love to visit in winter

Situated just outside Liptovsky Nikulas, the Aqua Park is the perfect destination after a day on the slopes. Although the entrance fee is high (21 euros with the gopass discount and for 3 hours only), there are several activities available inside: different pools, bubbles, 4 slides, bars next to the pool, outside hot water pool. Massages can be booked for 20 euros (half an hour). Other activities with extra costs: sauna, Surfing, fish massages. Everything seemed to be clean and nicely decorated (changing room, lockers area, showers).

The village of Vlkolinec is stunning twice: for its architecture and for its beautiful location. Timber houses in merry colours cluster amidst forrests and meadows.
Well, every location listed on the UNESCO World Heritage copes with crowds of tourists. If you want to avoid them, come on early morning. Say, 7:15 am. You will be rewarded by solitude and golden light.
The autumn, of course, is best time for visit. You would be amazed by bright red and yellow colours of the broadleaves forrest. Nothing compares to Vlkolinec in mid-October's Indian summer. Pure beauty.
If you have some spare energy, climb the nearby Sidorovo mountain (1099m, 30 min.
walk on yellow + 30 min. steep walk on red path). View from the mountain is no less stunning than the village itself. Simply great!

I've been to this place many times as a child, and I love coming back as an adult. Museum shows you perfectly how people liveed ine area a=years ago. They also organise "museum nights", with bonfires, and storytelling (staff who creates is is very friendly and love to share stories about the region).
Worth a visit!

Once mighty fortress now a ruin, being repaired by volunteers. Still impressive and visible from far away, an easy goal for half an hour's walk on well marked path from both sides, either from village Lietava or from Lietavska Svina, about 10 km from the regional centre- Zilina.
