Nestled within 400 tropical acres, the course was successfully designed to highlight Sabah’s natural beauty.

My wife and I had time to golf 9 holes and did the back 9. It is as scenic as it is challenging. The highlight were the monkeys on number 11. One of them tried to take our golf balls! That is a story for life. A drink and snacks after was very enjoyable. The staff there attends to your every need. The club manager even came out on the course to see how we were doing! The staff was great in the Proshop also. Cannot wait to come back.

Zip Borneo

Zip Borneo is located at The Adventure Centre, home to Ability Expeditions and Riverbug. Here you can try white water rafting, jungle trekking, biking and more at the beautiful jungle and river side camp. With wide open spaces and the Kiulu River running past a wall of jungle it is the perfect place to try your first zip-lining experience!

Reviewed By GTti_72 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

They smartly combined this with a water rafting tour so it was much more lengthy. The actual zip-lining experience was too rapid and was over in a maximum of 10 minutes and that too because it was an entire family of 4 people. The downside is that if other people in the group is not participating, you are the delaying factor so there is pressure to rush. There isn't much shelter so it can be extremely hot. Good explanation by the guides and safety was top notch. Easy enough that my 7 year old son could participate.
The toilet and shower facilities are top notch. The area is also quite spacious so large crowds are easily accomodated.

Tamparuli Suspension Bridge

If you have the time for a small detour, the Tamparuli Suspension Bridge makes an interesting pitstop for the journey to Kinabalu Park from Kota Kinabalu. We were surprised that the pedestrian bridge was actually very much higher than the road level. As such, there is a good view of Tamparuli town, the surrounding area and the fast-flowing Kiulu river from the bridge. The bridge is pretty sturdy, though you will need to watch your step as there are some places where the wood planks are broken. If you drive, it is best to park near the market and walk over to the bridge.

After experiencing Rumah Terbalik ( Upsidedown house in Borneo) do visit another museum within the compound.
Most museum don't allow you to take pictures. But with 3D Wonders Museum, you are encouraged to take part of their art and take as many as you want. I had fun interacting with the art pieces. The difference with the other 3D museums is that this museum lets you experience Sabah's culture and attractions. Art paintings are not complete if you are not with them and leaving Kota Kinabalu won't be complete without visiting 3D Wonders Museum.

Tuaran Sunday Market

We had a choice of 3 Sunday markets and Tuaran was the closest and most appealing for me. When we arrived we found live chooks, pets, fresh fruit, veg and herbs as well as clothes, bags etc, local crafts and your usual phone accessories. The place was bussling with locals and only the occasional tourist making you feel like you were one of them. An hour passed by quickly and then we stocked up on alcohol and snacks from the local shop. Our taxi driver waited for us then took us to see the Chinese pogoda before dropping us back at the Shangri la rasaria. A round trip of 80Rm in a very nice car. A nice way to spend a Sunday morning and a great place to replenish supplies.

Rumah Terbalik

Rumah Terbalik, the first upside down house of Malaysia is located in Kampung Telibong, Mile 21, Jalan Telibong, Tamparuli, Sabah, Malaysia. Nestled within the compound of Rumah Terbalik, there is also a souvenir shop (i.e. Tamu) well stocked with handicrafts and souvenirs made in Sabah as well as a Café (i.e. Kedai Kopi) serving brewed local coffee. Using recycled wood and materials specifically to create a more local atmosphere, Rumah Tebalik has an area of 1,500 square feet and equiped with a living room, a dining area, a equipped kitchen, veranda, two bedrooms and a toilet. This fully furnished house is constructed with a slight tilt, and with everything fitted upside down inside the house, it certainly challenges the viewers' perspective when within. The kampong house signifies our past and heritage. Upside down is another perspective of seeing something. It's meant to be a fun way of looking at ourselves and life. Rumah Terbalik will work towards establishing itself as a new and unique tourist destination within Sabah. As it is located along the main highway leading to Mt Kinabalu, Poring Hot Spring or even Kiulu River, it can help to enhance the already existing tour packages offered by travel agencies as being a short stopover point. A visit to the upside-down house guarantees to one of your most memorable experiences and it is a must-see attraction on your Sabah itinerary. As of February 2012, Rumah Terbalik has been listed within the Malaysia Book of Records as being the first upside down house of Malaysia! the 3D Wonders Museum is where visitors can explore the uniquely themed galleries, the first of its kind in Borneo, showcasing the importance of conservation while promoting the beautiful landscapes and the myriad of local cultures present in East Malaysia. Through the use of special art techniques, two-dimensional paintings will appear to pop out of the surface and come to life, immersing you in a vivid experience like no other. The place is suitable for all ages. But it is difficult to get public transport, because it takes about 20 minutes from Tuaran or more depending on the driver. Car or bus can be found close to the stationary store near the supermarket Bansoon or Seven Eleven. But there is a possibility the driver or bus rental will charge high. There are public toilets for women and men with charges RM0.50 per person. There is a small restaurant facility in this place.
