Been the talk of the town since 2000, serving only the best and fine western cuisine. Local authentic upcoming. International fine wines, cocktails, mocktails, spirits and beers. Cozy, family friendly enviroment. A place you feel at home. Must try.
As the locals we LOVE Bras Monkey. I left KK for a decade, came back and still found the same great flavor and passion in each dish. As a hotelier and curious explorer, I travelled around the world, eating my way through the world from London to Colombia and Bras Monkey is still one of the finest. It’s a place to enjoy great food and company in a quirky atmosphere. #mysabah #brasmonkey #monkeybusiness

Listed as one of Malaysia's best restaurants by Malaysia Tatler, Ferdinand's is a world class Italian restaurant offering the most exquisite fine-dining experience served with style, charm and attention to detail open only for that perfect night out.Open daily from 6.00pm to 11.00pm.
We found ourselves in Kota Kinabalu on my wife's birthday and decided to attend Ferdinand's on the basis of other reviews that we read on trip advisor. We have been to many restaurants in many places in the world and this was right up there with the best of them. This was a wonderful evening of fine dining, outstanding service and a surprise at every turn.
What made this special was not only the three course meal, but all of the extras that came with it - the view, the clip on Reading light for the menu, the appetisers, the palate cleansers, petite fours, the string trio that played in the restaurant and later sang happy birthday to my wife and played some extra songs for her while we ate the special (again extra) birthday cake that the restaurant provided.
The service provided by our waiter Gerald and all of the staff was second to none. Thankyou Ferdinand's for a wonderful evening!

Perched on the edge of its very own peninsular, Sunset Bar is a world away from the madding crowd, yet close enough to the heart of Kota Kinabalu city. This trendy and upscale bar brings fresh meaning to the term “perfectly chilled” and sets the standard in style and five-star service along with what can only be described as a stunning view of the sweeping Kota Kinabalu colourful skyline. This chic hang-out has locals and guests flocking for a spot on Sunset Bar’s natural timber decking furnished with cosy couple loungers. Tune into the whispering sounds of the ocean whilst Sunset Bar’s sultry and mood-enhancing tunes keep the vibe fun. An authentic Borneo lepa (boat) seeks attention as the bar’s unique hanging centrepiece, flanked by traditional handcrafted Borneo totems. Alfresco tables and seats along the bar make for a relaxed space. Opens daily from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm (weather permitting). Snacks are available from 4:30pm to 10:30pm.
Wanted so much to view the sunset from this strategic place, while enjoying a cool beer. Unfortunately, it was a rainy afternoon, hence what we got was a grey and cloudy sky.

My bf & I celebrated our anniversary in Kota Kinabalu and we decided to go to Happy Vines for this special event and it was very very special.
Even when I was sick, the food still tastes so yummy to me!
We tried all sorts of exotic cheese from Europe, different types of wine that is hard to get in Asia and also a special type ham that is really rare (forgot the name but the ham has like, less than 1% fat if I'm not mistaken, hahaha!).
The owner (also the chef), Remy, has traveled to most parts of Europe and brought back all sorts of unique food stuff from there, which was very special.
We also learned a lot about Western food from him so it was also an educational evening for us.
We had such a unique experience and will definitely go back there again.
The food that was served to us consists of:
STARTERS -
Prawns fried in Bacon
Tortilla Espana
Fillet of Fish with Coriander Salsa
FIRST PLATE -
Seared Tuna with Noodles tossed with Carrots & Capsicums flavoured with Citrus Soy
SECOND PLATE -
Seafood Paella
THIRD PLATE -
Mutton Ragu served with Spaghetti & Ratatouille Vegetables
DESSERT -
Queso de la Serena on Biscuit
Fresh Fruit Juice

First Class Foods? To the China tourists and Second Class Foods? to the local people. But anyway for me it's like another restaurant that serve normal foods which is the price were not that reasonable. But unless you're super rich until you don't place to spend, you come here and spend. It would be nice one.

The atmosphere is nice, especially good for special occasion dining. Outside Seating for drinking with liveband, the liveband is just average, sometimes it's annoying.
Price is average for drinks and food. The food that they served is really bad, pasta, pizza, chicken wings, lamb rack, that were what we ordered. None of them are delicious. The lamb rack portion is quite pricey with the price. If you want to dine with good atmosphere and not so care about food quality, you can try to visit.
Definitely I will just for drinking if I go back to La Vintage.

Located in Penampang Sabah. Don't come when its early in the morning, they don't serve anything yet. Come around 9am, when all are settle. The soup noodle are great. Can be either from chicken, fish or pork. If you ask for a fried rice or fried noodle, they don't cook anything early in the morning. The cooking from kitchen area only start from 4-5PM onwards. Can come by dinner time, ask for the specials. They have various specialties every day. It only operates until 12AM.
