We have almost 1 year on the Island and still a lot of things to visit. La Garita was our choice of a Sunday morning, to spend some time close to thar see but in the mean time on a quiet and relaxing place. The place is worthy and if you want te spend some more time here the beach is pretty nice and the waives weren't to big. Suitable for families with kids!

Although well signposted from the road, there is nothing to tell you when you are actually there. I continued up an increasing narrow and rocky track to reach a dead end and had to do a three-point turn on the side of a steep hill (not recommended). Take my advice and leave the car near where the houses stop and walk the last bit.
The trail round the various sites is reasonably well marked but requires an act of faith as it does take you scrambling over the rock. Flip flops are not recommended and you'll need to be reasonably mobile. The caves are very atmospheric but quite exposed so you'll also need a head for heights. Kids will love it, but it's probably best visited late in the day when you're alone and can enjoy the views in peace.

A very beautiful family beach where you find mostly locals enjoying it as well as a couple of tourists or relatives of local people. Every time I go I find it very relaxing so I would recommend it especially for those who prefer local places far from crowded Beaches.

Black sand is a result of the volcanic rock and minerals being ground down over millennia and since the Canaries are a result of volcanic activity, it is to be expected here. The beach was relatively quiet, but I could see why this beach could be busy. Long wide beach with soft sand and places to relax. On the north side are a few restaurants. Washrooms are available but open only when the lifeguard is there. The unique diving swimmer monument is at the other end overlooking the beach. Behind and above is the Promenade Paseo Maritima de la Garita.

We got a 36 bus from Playa del Ingles to Telde to visit the Basilica of San Juan Bautista, it was 8.60 for the two of us and took about an hour and 15 minuets to get there, it was a pleasant trip with plenty to see. When we got to the last stop the driver pointed us down towards the old San Francisco area where the Church is located. On entering, It was like we were stepping back in time, beautiful richly decorated alters, with candles flickering, nice and cool, the floor was made of big stone slabs and was a little uneven in places, only to be expected after all the centuries of devotion, we lite some candles for the living and the dead. It was well wort the trip.

Half of this mall is for outlet stores and other half is "normal" mall. The range of stores is not that big, but you still can find some bargains. Easy access with a car. Good activity for a cloudy/rainy day. Also easy to visit El Mirador mall which is on the other side of the highway.

The Casa-Museo León y Castillo, cultural center and museum, situated in the historic and artistic San Juan and San Francisco Telde City, was created in 1954 by the Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria, as a tribute to Fernando de León and Castillo, I Marquis del Muni, and his brother John, Project Engineer of Puerto de La Luz.
I've come to this city in search of guanchas artefacts, but there were none. So I've walked around the old town a bit - rather nice sleepy place but not to spend much time here.

I heard about tufia beach from the internet, and we went there to check out after got bored in the touristic Beaches, the place is really stunning with a peculiar architecture and narrow streets, dark sand a tinny beach but really beautiful, everting in the place worth to go to check, the only thing rogue is the local who sells beer and food,he is very friendly but as soon he discovers our strange spanish accent,he took advantage,we order some snacks(4 croquets and 6 calamari rings) and been served our beers in a tiny glass i thought was a local thing but no,as soon came some spanish guys there, they got a proper pints glass, anyhow the worse was the bill, £32 for to half pints and a little snacks.
The place really worth to go but make sure you bring your own drink and food or begin to training you spanish accent.

Just happened upon this statue whilst walking along the Promenade and it’s very interesting. It is well structed and intricate and a lovely colour also. The statue of course faces out to the sea and is visible to any passing boats with tourists onboard.

We stayed in an apartment on the beach. It is a small local black sanded beach. It is quiet with lovely walks along the sea front. The sun rises were spectacular. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. A lovely place to visit
