My husband and boys were lucky to have a ride on the trike around the discovery park barossa whilst touring with the surise weather team after winning a competition. The gentleman riding the bike was very friendly and helpful. My boys being under 8 could only go around within the caravan park slowly. But friends we were with, went for a ride and just loved the experience. I would definitely like to do it again and try out some wineries along the way, perfect way to get around, seeing the sights, taste testing some wines and having a designated driver!

What binds us together is a commitment to making inspirational wines that uphold the culture and traditions of Barossa. Visited as a group of five (three from overseas) & arrived 15 mins before 3pm, but were only allowed to choose from the selections menu. We chose the three meat, three cheese platters and considering these are $35 each, we were completely shocked and disgusted at the small serving size. All tasted delicious, this certainly wasn’t the issue, but the prices really need to be evaluated. Unfortunately, it won’t be on any of our recommendations lists.

Tscharke's Place

Damien and Eva Tscharke have created a unique space with their German style cellar door build, home to Tscharke Estate grown and crafted wines and Tscharke Barossa Pottery. 5 stars and no less. What a brilliant activity. We were thoroughly trained by Shane and Paul who made sure we were all competent and safe before we started our brilliant tour along the Torrens river seeing all of the sights up to the zoo and back to the North Adelaide par 3 golf club.
I can’t rate this event more highly. We were entertained by a commentary about the sites of Adelaide and saw so many great places, restaurants etc whilst becoming very comfortable using the vehicle
This was a test for us to see if it was suitable to use overseas. It certainly was.
We would love to do their Seppeltsfield tour also. It would be a great gift for someone.
Thanks guys , we’ll be talking about this for a long time.
It’s a great idea for tourists to our beautiful city!!

Kalleske Wines

In Kalleske Cellar Door you will be able to taste our current range of wines and hear all about the history behind the Kalleske vines. Cheese platters of local Barossa produce are available to purchase and can be enjoyed on a picnic blanket on the lawn or in our cozy cellar door. Or why not try a self guided food and wine flight where each local produce is paired with a Kalleske wine. Out the back you can find games like Quoits to entertain the kids whilst being surround by a beautiful garden. Come enjoy our wines and learn the rich history that went into making them. In South Australia's Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the village of Greenock. They are one of the region's leading grape-growing families consistently growing some of the Barossa's best quality grapes. After six generations of growing grapes, winemaker and seventh generation family member, Troy Kalleske, together with his brother Tony, established the Kalleske winery and made the first 'Kalleske' wine. The vineyard is low yielding with grapes grown organically and biodynamically and the winery is also certified biodynamic/organic. The Kalleske family are active practitioners of sustainable farming. They are caretakers of the land and not only want to maintain the environment but improve it for future generations. All Kalleske wines are estate grown and vinified with minimalist winemaking techniques used to fully capture the essence of the vineyard allowing genuine handmade estate wines to be produced. The range is a diverse mix of wines that showcases the splendid Kalleske grapes. Wines from Kalleske have been seven generations in the making, but they are certainly worth the wait!

We visited on Saturday at a busy lunchtime, but this this was certainly not a problem for Donna and Amanda who handled Visiting tasters with a professional, informative and friendly approach. They were still able to give a personalised experience to all that were there. The platter we had in the beautiful relaxing outdoor area was delicious and was a perfect match to the bottle of wine we also purchased to have with it. This is a definite stop in the Barossa Valley.

We loved the views over the surrounding farmland and vineyards and the character of the historic sheds that now serve as a tasting room and restaurant. The complimentary wine tasting presented by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable viticulture student was informative and enjoyable. The pies for lunch (one lamb and one chicken) were scrumptious and perfectly complemented by Pindarie wines. We had the choice of a verandah setting with views but chose air conditioned comfort inside. A nice coffee completed our meal. The whole experience was delightful thanks to the quality food and wines as well as the cheerful friendliness of Morgan who conducted the tasting and served in the restaurant.
