Yesterday 10/10,I was at ocean course teeing off at hole 9 at Ria Bintang Golf. After I hit the ball, as I walked away from tee box. A bunch of bees started to attack me. I just couldn't get rid of them and I got stung many times even I ran more than 100 meters to the green. No doubt the staff brought me to the doctor for treatment but I want to warn future golfers to be more careful when playing there.

Grotto Santa Maria and stations of the cross, with a small chapel.
I have searched Goa Maria for weeks, unfortunately nothing found in Tripadvisor website. Grotto Santa Maria (Santa Maria Cave), at first sight, seems all Greek to me. It is because the locals just name it as Goa Maria. In fact the correct one should be called Goa Maria Air Sanih (GOMAS). Without a car, I am afraid it is difficult for you to reach there as the Goa is on a uphill. After a bumpy ride to the destination, we found the tourist was out of sight except a receptionist there. Through the archway of Ave Maria, a narrow lane leading down an open space with a circle of trees and flowers. It is good for religious assembly. With several steps up from the ground on either hand, the ivory-colored statue of Mother Mary stood inside a cave with her praying hands, in front of her a steel curved railing built. On your way back to the entrance, there are many beautifully reliefs carved on rock telling the story of Jesus from his youth to his crucifixion.

Not your usual plane ride! It was definitely something that I looked forward to on this particular trip to Bintan. As an aviation lover, I couldn't give this a miss. This is your chance to put yourself into one of flying seats to experience flying against the winds, have a good bird's eye view of everything below you, and also experiencing a wonderful approach to landing.
I would highly recommend every visitor to Bintan to do this activity!

This one place I highly recommend when you are in Tanjung Pinang. This small island is rich in history, culture, sights, and more.
Just around 20 minutes boat ride from Tanjung Pinang, the island boasts of beautifully paved roads, historic ruins, a museum, a beautiful, mausoleums, and a beautiful mosque.
You can hire a local transpo similar to that tricycle of the Philippines to tour you around the island.

This was our second stay at this resort and not much seemed to have changed. While the resort was neat and tidy it seems to be stuck in a time warp as everything is so 1990's. The staff where friendly and helpful and the facilities were well maintained. We chose this place again as the accommodation rates where quite reasonable, but that's where they get you. Anything, no EVERYTHING, you buy there is expensive. I have now paid for my first ever A$10 cup of coffee. Its a nice place but its not the sort of place I'd expect to pay those prices. In the unlikely event that I go to Bintan again, I'll be going elsewhere.

We hired a car and drove to a few places around Bintan. One of the place that we visited is this temple. Although I have been to many places in China, but seeing 500 Lohan in one temple has never been before even though I have visited the top 4 temples in China which are, Putuo Mountain (Ningbo), JiuHua Temple in (Anhui), WuTai Mountain (Shanxi) and ErMei Moutain (SiChuan). So seeing this slightly bigger than lifesize Lohan with descriptions of what they are neatly in rows of about 6 is indeed quite a sight. For those interested in chinese cultures and buddhism, this is a must see! It has inscriptions about what and who each Lohan is.
Enjoy!

Lovely laid back resort with plenty to do... Insuring lots of nothing at all. Good restaurants and a beautiful beach. Not over developed and quiet enough to be able to get away from it all. The staff were really lovely. We had a blissful time.
