Worth the 5 Euro a head. Located near the fascinating named village of Snappertuna.
Stroll around, it is called a ruin so don't expect opulence. It does still have the main rooms, walls and internal shape for you to wassail around and think about the old days when this was connected to the sea.

We provide safe guided tours with exclusive and comfortable kayak designs. We operate primarily in the archipelago south of Finland. All year round when waters are open. Paddle gear available for the full season, including tents, drysuits and other necessary garments and equipment. Kayaking whenever water is open, ie. almost all around the year. Kayaks and tours can be directly booked and paid on the website.
We rented two tandem kayaks for just a few hours. Starting from Gullo, we took a narrow river-like passage between the Islands and did a short tour in the archipelago. Everything was simply amazing! The scenery in the area is truly outstanding and unique. Special thanks to Jöns, who was extremely kind and flexible and tried to make our experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. The kayaks are very stable, so even those with little experience should feel comfortable. After kayaking, we stopped for a drink at Ekenäs, a very cute Porvoo-like village. It was a perfect one-day trip from Helsinki.

It was very interesting to hear about the history of this old building. There is also available plenty of information sheets about the possibilities to visit in the area. No entrance fee. Also inter-active spots (sounds and changing environment pictures), something for kids and DVD presentations on natural life in the archipelago. Different kind of souvenir items for sale but fortunately not quite the typical tourist kitsch.

Really nice young man sold us the tickets and told the many possibilities of this museum area. For us the most interesting is the Helene Schjerfbeck exhibition and the films telling about her
life was a bonus we didn't know in advance. You can take photos in most areas, but not in this exhibition.
There is also part enlightening the history of Dragsvik from the Uusimaa regiment in 1600’s to being a Russian garrison’s prison camp for ”reds” after the civil war and a forced labour camp to finally being the post-war Uusimaa brigade. In the courtyard are historical interiors: The Merchant’s house, house of Blomberg and the Forngården house museum exhibit different styles and life in Raseborg from 1700’s to 1950’s.
With Finnish Museokortti free entrance, otherwise adults 8 EUR including the whole Ekta museum area. There is a small cafe also combined with the ticket sale and you can leave your bag in locked bag storage.

This house museum (folk museum) is located in the village of Snappertuna, Raasepori, next to Raasepori Castle. There is a nice "Lovers' Path" (about 500 meters) between the castle and the house museum.
The house museum is an open-air museum established in 1958. The oldest part of this house was built in 1713. The museum consists of this main building, a loft, different kinds of sheds and storehouses, a barn, a smithy and an outdoor toilet. The museum shows how people lived at an archipelago farm in the middle of the 19th century (not 20th century as said in some brochures). The admission fee is 2 euros (in 2014), childrens free.
Our boys loved both the house museum, the path and the castle.
