Mall of Scandinavia

Reviewed By baggycat - UK

I really think that Sweden should be renamed Fleeceland as the thing they know how to do best is how take money from you.
Lots of shops, quite a decent selection of places to eat but all in all, nothing special.
Sweden is ridiculously expensive but it’s relevant to the income of the population. They have amongst the highest average wage in Europe and that is reflected in the prices.
Having travelled a lot of the world it’s perfectly clear that prices match income wherever you go.
Their average wage is about 35% higher - at current exchange rates - than the UK. That said, there is no excuse for some of the costs in visiting Stockholm.
The first thing I noticed is that their smallest coin is 1kr, that’s about 10p. That means that everything gets rounded up to start with.
Parking is ridiculously expensive everywhere, food even more so. And if you like to pay at least £6 for a small bottle of beer then you will be right at home here.
For us, Stockholm is a one-off visit.
There are a few places worth paying the entrance fee for but overall I would give it a miss.

Vasa Museum

The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. Today Vasa is the world's only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia.

The back story, history, dedication and most of all the exhibits are astonishing and so well laid out! To do it justice allow 3 hours or more to look around at the ship, stories of those people on board and the dedication of one man against all odds that searched and found the remains. The lessons learnt about the preservation of the ship and timber are fascinating and help us salvage and preserve similar ship wrecks to this day. More than just a history lesson!

It is a nice Park, lots of children here. It is good mostly in the summer, but at end of March if the sun is good too. Not too much to see but good to spend some time in nature or have the children out and have fun

Stockholm Old Town

The Old Town, unsurprisingly, is the oldest part of Stockholm. It's certainly the tourist's go-to destination, but that doesn’t detract from its architectural and otherwise urban beauty.

Friends Arena

Reviewed By Robtane - Stockholm, Sweden

I love AIK Football and Friends Arena is their home ground. It is always an enjoyable occasion going with my 11 year old Daughter to follow them. The pluses for Friends is easy parking at Mall of Scandinavia (although exiting after a game can be a test of patience) or easy walk to trains or busses. The downside is how bad the hotdogs are. Overall my love of the Football gives the stadium 3 stars but I wish I had the ability to give 3 ½ stars. I have also attended a Coldplay concert here and that was fantastic and an upcoming Queen concert. Will review again. Hate those hotdogs though.

One of Stockholm's best vegetarian restaurants.High-quality bread, salads and soups.Pastry's also a delight. The venue does not win a beauty award, but it is forgiven when the garden and the shop are extravaganza.A little confusing for visitors with all the addresses that mention Ulriksdal,Thank you for your judgment, and welcome back to Slottsträdgården Ulriksdal

Filmstaden Scandinavia

Went there few times, great cinema to go with friends of family. Lots of choices of snacks and the quality of the sound in the rooms is really good. Imax movie is a bit pricey though (more than 200 sek). Better book your sit in advance if you don't want to sit in the first row or if you come in group.

Monteliusvagen

This is My absolute favorite place to go for when I just want to enjoy the view for my lovely city!
Whenever you’re a pro or amateur photographer or if you’re just in the city for a minute I would highly recommend for you to bring a camera and be prepared to fill out your camera roll!
The best time to enjoy the view is when it’s bright outside.
A tip: bring a snack or something to eat and to skip the expensive restaurant and cafe you can go to the supermarket “Götgatan 17A” that’s is close by the viewpoint and it’s cheap.
They are open 07-23 almost every day.
That’s all from me, thank for Reading.
Until next time see you soon!
