Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ), which is known simply as Subic Bay, is the Philippines' first successful case of a military base converted through volunteerism into a tax- and duty-free zone similar to Hong Kong and Singapore, operated and managed by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority or SBMA. It covers the fenced area of the former U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay located in the southwest of Luzon Island in the Philippines and surrounded by the municipalities of Subic and Olongapo City in Zambales and Hermosa and Morong in Bataan, in concurrence of these municipalities' Sangguniang Bayan, pursuant to Section 12 of RA 7227. The harbor faces the Zambales Mountain Range to the west and the Subic Bay opening to the South China Sea. It is northwest of the Bataan Peninsula and southwest of Zambales Province.

Thanks to Ken, the guys and girls at Mango's for the friendly welcome. Mango's is a professional outfit, located at Barrio Barretto with beach frontage (superb location) providing quality equipment for hire and a boat with an excellent crew. Pricing is competitive and there's even a discount for cash.
Thoroughly enjoyed the morning dives on the USS New York followed by El Capitan, I shall be returning in June and hope to do many more dives with you around Subic Bay. I did return in the evening for a few beers and a meal, also excellent. Many thanks to you all.

This is the nearest Mall to the tourist waterfront and provides most of what one could want from downmarket cheap stalls, to high fashion Brand outlets,an extensive electronics area and a huge food court. No supermarket though - that's a pity.
It is usually quiet in the morning so that's the best time to shop in this Mall - between 10am and 11am. When lunch time approaches the Mall becomes packed with people having lunch and then it stays busy through the afternoon into the evening.
Its well worth a visit and a P80 taxi fare from the Waterfront Tourist area.

My husband and I visited this place after 10 years of going there for our first date, so there had been a lot of changes since then.
I noted that upon entering the zoo itself, we were made to pass by the gift shop. The guide also was too brisk in presenting the animals and that she didn't care if no one was really listening, or if someone has been left behind. She was not observant enough of her guests, even if someone used flash on the reptile exhibit, she was not there to stop that guest. There had been three bathroom breaks, which were, surprise surprise, conveniently near the souvenir kioks and food shops.
There were less animals than I remembered from our first trip, which tells one a lot. The first thing that appalled me were the ligers that they were proud of - they must have paired lions and tigers together in order to breed these. Christian the Cub is one of them, and for everyone who wants to take their picture with him, holding a milk bottle and touching the cub, they must pay a fee even if the staff used the guest's camera. I noticed that the cub was quite hungry as he was trying to get a chance at the baby bottle filled with (guess what?) COW'S MILK. Is that even healthy for ligers, because as far as I know about cats, they're lactose-intolerant! They also must have kept the tigers hungry, too, because if a guest 'wants' to feed the tiger, they must pay Php 200 for a bucket with six pieces of chicken. Jollibee Chickenjoy in a bucket is a better deal than this! And the notice that the cages that they're in were only temporary shelters for them didn't fool me a bit, because the zoo was just too small for them to roam around at all times- just like what Singapore Zoo had for their lions, tigers, and other feline animals, and Singapore Zoo didn't even breed ligers.
Another thing was that section that presented dead, stuffed animals that they must have in the past. I grimaced at the baby animals who were also stuffed and modeled as if they were still playing with the other baby animals and their mums. Argh.
Well, considering that they also own Paradizoo in Tagaytay, it's no surprise that they treat all of their animals in an appalling, dismaying, and disgusting way. Even if that memory of that first date remained precious in me, the animal-lover in me says ENOUGH.
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT ZOOS LIKE THEM.

Having been taught by Andy was a real good and interesting experience. We became friends over time online and through mutual friends and when I was looking for my side mount certification in August 2012 my choice was simple and easy and I've never looked back, so to say!
The knowledge of Andy and the Delivery are phenomenal, he takes you through all course steps calmly and it all becomes easy. He's patient and he knows all the wrecks in Subic Bay inside out.
Andy went the extra mile, for real. Being a highly educated recreational dive professional myself, I found it refreshing to sit in the 'school banks' again with such an outstanding instructor!
I'm looking forward to more diving and courses with Andy!

went here recently with my family last June 5, 2017. While the staff were very accommodating, i found the attraction however not too attractive anymore. they still offered the same 'rides' they had before. what made me even sad was to see the tree where the old tree drop ride used to be, to have been cut already. according to one of the staff, the tree died... so sad. as to whether all the attachment on the tree had anything to do with its death... one can only guess....

We really enjoyed the 2 hour jungle tour and survival course. We were a bit hesitant about going because we weren't able to contact anyone in advance. It was very easy though to just show up and get the guide arranged for us. We obtained a cellphone number from our guide so people may contact them in advance if they have questions.

She taught us about the plants and their way of life. The walk was at a good pace so we could all keep up. It was a very enjoyable day for all of us. 2 over age 40 adults. 22 year old and 12 year old.
I'd highly recommend it.

We availed the package deal (hotel + tickets); it was handled by Ms. Abbie who was very accommodating when we arrived at the Subic Bay Peninsular Hotel where we checked-in and checked-out even the payment was not yet settled. Oh, thank you for your trust. We settled the payment at the Inflatable Island Ticketing Area. The entrance to the Island is through the Samba Beach Resort. Parking is a breeze; there's a lot of space for vehicles, plus the area is shady, lots of trees that you won't worry about your car getting baked under the sun.
Our ticket to the Inflatable Island was what they so called "Spray" tickets which offer a four-hour playing time on the Island. For us, the time was adequate- not too short or too long. We had completed all the obstacles. Our favorite was the "Human Launcher" and "Giant Tarzan Swing". The "Rock Climbing" was a real challenge; it reminded me that in life we should never give up. Just have faith in yourself. Haha.
They offer locker for a fee. We availed the small locker (for our wallets, phone, cam, and tripod, yes! tripod fits.) worth 50 pesos + 100 as a deposit which you can have upon returning the key.
We didn't like the summer tea we bought at the summer bar beside where we get the keys to the locker. Food was ok; price is ok.
