Valley of Huang Long, meaning "Yellow Dragon", has snow Mountains, a large cave, Huanglong colorful lakes, as well as endangered animals, including the giant panda.
This is a high altitude (average 3,500m ) nature attraction with mountain ridges and snow capped peaks, deep Valleys, rivers and Waterfalls and ponds and lakes .One could readily imagine a celestial golden dragon wading in water .We visited in early May and one day after a heavy snow fall which resulted in the cancellation of 8 inbound flights. The views are amazing. Advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes with adequate warm clothing as temperature variation is great. Many visitors had to buy oxygen canisters due to breathtaking difficulties caused by high altitude. Although the timing is not peak season, a visit is still worthwhile.

Stunning scenery with boardwalks which makes it easy to walk uphill and benches to rest and take in the fresh air and enjoy the scenery. From the cable car station at the top, you need to walk another 2km up to the 5colored pools and you'll be rewarded with spectacular views all round. For those with altitude problems, there is an oxygen bar and oxygen bottles for sale. The toilet amenities up in the mountain are modern and clean and there are workers to keep the park clean.

It seems (please verify) Chuanzhusi Town, Songpan County, Sichuan Province was very badly damaged in the 2008 earthquake. The town looks brand new. There wasnt much activity the day our bus stopped for lunch. We were enroute to Zhaga Waterfall. Most of the rebuilding has been completed. Unsure what activities are available. Two very distinctive new Bridges.

Right after a heavy snow fall the night before, we arrived at Munigou the next morning to be greeted by powdery snow left on pines. It was foggy along the way to the resort. The waterfall was refreshing. Some of the tracks up the waterfall were closed due to the dangerous icy paths. However the scenery was just as breath-taking half way up. A good alternative to Huanglong scenic spot.

Another underrated beauty. Erdaohai is full of wonder at every turn. It has crystal clear turquoise lakes, gentle gurgling streams, mysterious forest, beautiful delicate flowers... and the air was so fresh, I felt my lungs were being cleansed throughout our walk. Right at the top of the mountain, about 3400m above sea level, there's a "hot spring" which you can sit and dip your feet into. Well, it's not really very hot... I actually thought it quite chilly, but I guess it's warm relative to the other pools of water. And in winter, it would probably feel much warmer. Well worth a visit!

Interesting ancient city with colorful stores inside the city gate. One of the better organized and clean ancient city. The statue of Princess Wencheng and the Tubo King Songtsen Gampo standing tall at the entrance of the city gate tells of their famous inter-cultural marriage between the Tang Dynasty and the Tubo Dynasty to settle the dispute between the two countries. Should stop here if traveling between Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou.
