Aeon Lake Town

Reviewed By CHEERBEARBEAR - HONG KONG

Went there on a sunny day during the weekday. Not too much people. The malls were combined by 2 malls + 1 outlet. This outlet was little bit different from those with Premium and Mitsui. The products' price there are little bit higher due to the shops & brands.
If you went there on a Sunny day, you must go the restaurants near the lake in which the view were perfect. If you were dogs lovers, there were many doggies there too.
We did walk through the outlet and part of the mall but not all due to limited time. In fact, we did spend one whole day there already but we cannot see all shops.
Next time, I will go there again for sure not because of shopping but the scenery and atm0sphere.

Mizumoto Park

Reviewed By John R - Matsudo, Japan

My wife and I recently visited Mizumoto Park and we were both taken aback by it's size, how well maintained it was and it's impressive bird sanctuary. The park is about a 15 min walk from Kanemachi station, but a bus does go from the station to the park every 15-20 minutes if you do not fancy the walk.
The park is divided into two sections - an area designed for picnics, with toilets and a playground, and another wilder, forested area with a lake that you can fish in. There are several bird viewing stations dotted around the forested/lake area and we were very surprised to see a large colony of birds in the sanctuary preparing their nests for spring. The entire park is very well maintained and clean, but please note you must keep your dog on a leash and kids are not allowed to use skateboards or roller-skates (cycling is permitted).
Mizumoto Park is possibly the largest park in the Tokyo area and would be great spot for Hanami season (cherry blossom viewing). On the opposite side of the lake is Saitama and another smaller park, Misato Park which is also worth a look.
I would recommend this Mizumoto-koen to families, bird watchers or anyone interested in escaping the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Toneri Park

Reviewed By Chuzaa - Vancouver, Canada

This is a relatively new park in the Adachi-ku district of Metropolitan Tokyo. Away from the densely populated Tokyo’s business and entertainment centres, you can most conveniently reach here by the use of the JR Yamanote Line and the Nippori-Toneri Liner LRT. I understand the park can also accommodate people with cars easily with a large parking lot.
The park’s trees are all very young so do not expect any good shades when it’s super-sunny.
In the northeastern section of Tokyo, this area remained for decades a barren land in the second half of the 20th century. Then the Tokyo government started to convert this space into a park with medium sized ponds where you can enjoy fishing as well as a large number of water iris that should bloom in full in the May-June period. Wild ducks are nesting around the ponds.
When I walked around the park, after reaching here by the Nippori-Toneri Liner LRT, I realized the park has really nothing but the basic park facilities. Toilets are located here and there and I was able to see some vending machines far away, but no fixed shops or restaurants of any kind. I guess it is a great place for families to go and enjoy a picnic and/or barbecue, or go walking around or jogging.

This summer fireworks festival is organized by local volunteers under the banner of bringing local culture to children and revitalizing the local region. Revolving around special multi-stage fireworks, some 5,000 blasts light up the sky. The seats are in close proximity to where the fireworks go up, so you can see the show in vivid detail. A special treat is the fireworks that are dedicated to various people. Pop-up shops serving local cuisine appear around the venue, and bon-odori dances and music shows take place in advance of the main event.

Adachi Park of Living Things

Reviewed By Nisildur - Lille

Located a bit far from the tourist-friendly Tokyo (JR then Tobu Line and a 15 min walk), this park is surrounded by a peaceful park. The park has no english content but you dont really need it to understand whats going on. The park is VERY child-friendly and has a lot of place where kids can interact (fishing, handling, touching) under the control of a very friendly staff. There are many things to see, ranging from rabbits to big turtles. The biggest attraction are the butterflies, you can see a lot of them flying around you in the aviary.
If you like nature and small animals, this park is worth your time.
