Come and discover the thrilling and sometimes peculiar universe of science and technology – we promise entertainment and amazement for young and old alike. Coming in 2018: virtual reality paragliding and the chance to prove your battle skills at the brand new Ball Factory.

Visited Universe 8 years ago and was overjoyed by the exhibits, experiments and experience. This time around my enthusiasm was dampened slightly. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place, but what felt edgy and cool in 2009 (solar power, electric cars and Segways for example) is a bit... mundane today, especially as the exhibits have not been modernized or updated ("In the future we'll be riding electric cars"... )
A few things are new and exciting (the high ropes course and the Virtual Reality area for example) but I worry that they will remain unchanged for a number of years.
Irregardless of my complaints the kids (3 and 5) loved it - the soap bubbles, the laser obstacle course, the playground and water stuff. All in all a day well spent.

Dybboel Banke History Centre

In the History Centre Dybbol Banke you step directly into the events of the dramatic war of 1864. You become be part of the drama and you will learn more about one of the most important battles in the Danish history. Experience history with all your senses: When you enter the territory, you will hear how the thunder of cannons is blended with the shouting and crying of injured soldiers. Go on your journey of exploration and find out, how a correct redoubt is built. Look into the barracks in the "soldiers' town" behind the front where the young and tired soldiers try to get some rest between the bloody battles. The war 1864 resulted in the disappearance of the multinational Danish nation state. Denmark developed into a national small state and got a part of Southern Jutland in form of Schleswig back. Prussia grew into the expanding German Empire which later sank and developed then into the Federal Republic Germany we know today. Therefore, the war in Dybbol is a central landmark in the European history. If you are ready to occupy the History Centre, then we are ready to offer you a very special adventure. Fascinating, entertaining, but also really serious.

This is a reltively small museum but it has a number of interactive activities and it is a living museum in the sense that there are actors dressed in period costume who perform small historical episodes and demonstarte authentic tasks and activities of the period. There is a good movie explaining the war and a number of static displays. A highlight seemed to be the firing of a period cannon. I would have given it 5 stars but much is in Danish (unsurprisingly) and as English speakers we didn't get the full story (for example the cannon firing explanation was lost on us), though many staff do speak English. Worth a visit.

My family & I took A day trip whilst in Germany to Denmark. We visited a Castle in Sonderborg. The castle has had a couple of rebuilds over the years and is in good condition. There are numerous rooms on different levels with artifacts from different eras, and laid out as a museum. Very interesting, my only negative would be that all presentations did not have English Traslations

I have been coming here ever since I could walk. When the royal family is out, it is possible to walk around the Gardens and enjoy this beautiful and peaceful English park. Recent effort has been put into reestablishing some the floral grandeur of the past queen mother Ingrid, who spent tremendous amounts of money and time in the Gardens. Entrance is free, and children enjoy it. Nice place for a tranquil stroll.

From the outside this is the most magnificent palace in the south of Denmark. In the chapel you can attend Concerts given on a splendid baroque organ. The buildings are surrounded by beautifully kept Gardens. View the sculpture park and take a walk along tree lined woodland avenues down to the waters of the fjord.

The Alsion concert hall has superb acoustics and is the home of an excellent symphony orchestra, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester. We went to their Sankt Hans concert in June of 2014 with Shao-Chia Lü conducting and were pleasantly surprised. It was a challenging program with music by Gershwin and Bernstein, and they were totally on the beat, dynamic and expressive. All sound was crystal clear even from our seats in the back left corner of the hall, in the last row. A very good place to experience classical music.

Augustiana Skulpturpark Og Kunstcenter Augustenborg

Reviewed By Stine D - Soenderborg, Denmark

Denmark's probably cutest and most beautifully situated art gallery, placed in an historic palais with an English park leading right down unto the Augustenborg Fiord. Every summer will sport a major exhibition - 2015 it is H.R.H. Princeconsort Henrik, 2014 it was a sculptural biennale with 150 Danish and German sculptors, and in 2013 it was works by Sam Francis. Bring the entire family, remember your picknick-basket - and in summer: bring your swimming gear.
