Nordanaparken is a very scenic cultural park and recreational park close to the city centre. The Skelleftea museum sits inside this park but there is a lot more to see than just the museum. The area has many culturally significant buildings including Nyborg which was a residence built in 1764. The park has great play areas for children plus duck ponds and in winter a nice skating rink is laid.

Solbacken trading area located 3 kilometers north of Skelleftea center. It is Sweden's first and Europe's only shopping center built entirely of wood. Here are 23 stores over an area of 35 000 square meters. Location along the E4 highway and close to the city has made Solbacken into an attractive retail for both high-volume retail and clothing.

I went on a business trip with my section, and we spent the whole afternoon/evening there. First, the activity on the trees, then the dinner, and finally, the sauna and hot tub. The area is very beautiful, and the staff is very kind. It is a funny day for the whole family.

Underbar naturupplevelse! Rekommenderas varmt!

This is a nice attraction if you like the concept of golf but want something more easily accessable and less expensive. At the moment the course has 29 "holes" and they are about 60-200m long each. It costs 50 kr for a day-pass and you can rent a disc quite cheap. It takes about 2 hours for 4 people to go around 18 holes which is quite appropriate. Just remember to bring some mosquito-repellent if you are there in the evenings in the summer. The shop is open between 12:00-21:00 I think.

Fantastic fun... it's not every day you get to do Ice Fishing, Eat Reindeer & build a fire. Great for families. Very friendly helpful staff. Love to visit in the summer when the Crayfish are ready to harvest...It´s just the way it is, true arctic living! You are welcome back when ever you are ready for new adventures! It was a plesure to have you here! Peter

The main building of the museum is a school house built in the Swedish mansion style from 1916. The building contains the Skelleftea museum, Skelleftea Art gallery, museum Anna Nordlander Art Gallery plus the Meijer collection. Inside there is also a really nice coffee shop. The museum is free but I do suggest if you do not read Swedish hire the audio guide as there is very little written in anything other than Swedish. Well worth the visit.

Church at the center end of the early 20th century. Church at the center end of the early 20th century. Sometimes it offered organ music at lunchtime.
