A settlement in a mountain. Living quarters made in the side of a mountain. Only part is still visible as a big portion was destroyed by earthquakes. Take a good look at acient icons on the monastery, take a walk via narrow corridors to experience it fully. There is a buss to take visitors front parking up , so do not worry. Place not adopted for disabled

This is quite a large place, with lots to explore, so allow at least 2 hours. I understand that it has been renovated and restored, so a lot of it looks quite new. It was still very interesting to walk around and appreciate all of the different sections within the castle.

The park was next to our hotel. We were there in the winter time, so it was very quiet, lots of snow, and fairly empty. Overall it, we had a nice long walk along with the river stream. Some abandoned looking children's playground. Some looked spooky or abandoned. But a pleasant experience nevertheless. I wouldn't go out of my way for it though. Come if you have time, but this wouldn't be the highlight of Borjomi.

Be sure to check out the Mtsvane Monastery if you are trekking into the Borjomi Nature preserve. We did so last week and it was a beautiful setting on the Chitakhevi River. It is surrounded by the beautiful Forests, very peaceful and serene and you will probably end up taking a hundred photos as we did but none will truly capture the beauty here.

This monastery is totally lost into nature!
The interior is amazing with wonderful paintings on the walls, that have mostly disappeared because of the russian soldiers that were obliged to erase religious facts...
You can reach the monastery with your own car, SUV else...
No public transport are going, so if you don't have a car, you should hire a driver.

I admit it. I am not an art appreciator. To my untrained artistic eye, the statue of Prometheus in the center of Borjomi Central Park (see my Tripadvisor review) is just alright. Not fantasic. Not terrible. 3 stars on its own merits. However, the tall and very pretty waterfall directly behind the statue gets a full 5 stars - for an average of 4 stars. In my opinion it is not the statue that should be listed as an attraction on Tripadvisor, but it's the waterfall that should be.

Did a bit of exploring in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park last week when in the area and it was majestic. There are a few short hiking trails and one was not very accessible when we were there but the views and were amazing and being up close with the flora and fauna was a lot of fun. It’s not expensive to get a permit and you can do some camping here too if you want but we didn’t allocate time for that so we will have to come back again and do it next time.

The museum is on 3 floors. It is basically an old house or structure. The ground floor has things from early settlements, such as pottery, arrows, etc. The second floor has things from the Romanov palace here in Borjomi. There are mainly plates and other service items that belonged to the Tsar's brother. The third floor has stuffed real animals and its more of a natural history of Georgia. We were the only visitors there so I am assuming that they do not get lots of visitors. They lady would close the lights after we entered and left a room :)
