September 2017.
We did the 2-hour Riverbend Explorer tour -- 11 tourist and 2 guides. Very interesting cave and instructor; we had never previously been in a cave like this. We're very glad we wore our hiking boots with excellent grip and dressed very warm (with an extra scrunch down jacket) for the 8° cave temperature. The 1K walk in the forest from the informative visitor centre to the cave has 130m of vertical ascent!

We visit Qualicum Beach twice a year, and always make time to walk in Heritage Forest. It is always peaceful and quiet. We never see many others walking there. We will continue to visit.

Absolutely a wonderful gallery in this restored old school house.Lots of parking, with working galleries where you can watch artists work and chat with them. The volunteers that run the gallery are very courteous and go above and beyond the call. Home to some of the Islands finest artists.

Vancouver Island University's Milner Gardens & Woodland is a magical seaside retreat once reserved for royalty. Sheltered on three sides by old-growth forest, this one-of-a kind woodland estate rejuvenates the soul with its Gardens and magnificent coastal views. Enjoy the charming Camellia Tea Room after strolling the grounds and contemplate the history of the Gardens or fantasize about having them all to yourself.
The grounds and garden are the main event, very beautiful forested property with an extensive and well-kept garden. The house is charming and you can have refreshments on the veranda in good weather. I found the food in the tea room disappointing though, somewhat overpriced and under-inspired. (We passed on the scones after someone told us that they came from a mix.)

Its a few miles of the Highway but is probably worth investigating. Very scenic lake with some walks though we did discover you cant fully walk around it. Good carparking though the last bit of the road down is a bit bumpy. Good for photos

Stopped in to ask for some suggestions on restuarants in the area. The gentleman suggested one that was about a kilometer down the road, but unfortunately ,it was not open. Ended up back tracking and having a nice lunch at the Shady Rest which had views to die for! Had a very informative and interesting chat about the real estate in the area . Great location for a visitor's centre.

The water is warm. The beach is huge and mostly sandy (there are parts of the beach that are rocky). The water is shallow and not a lot of waves so kids have lots of safe places to play. And because it is shallow you can walk pretty far out into the ocean and still be only up to your waist. The sunsets are gorgeous. It's fun to take a walk on the boardwalk that runs along the beach. And there is a big park next to the beach with playground equipment, beach volleyball courts, water park and bathrooms.

….so you can fill it up with all the goodies including baked goods, coffee, organic produce, plants, jewelry, pottery and art, to name a few. As the weather gets warmer the market gets bigger and expands to the outdoors. Come early if you want the best selection. A favorite at the market is Bodhi’s Bakery (for mmm… cinnamon buns, muffins and savory croissants). Live entertainment too!
