New Zealand's most iconic racetrack. Featuring international Thoroughbred and Motorsport racing, a first class function & event centre and home to Counties Racing Club and other outstanding events throughout the year!
A great venue for a great event. The racing, the food stalls and the merchandise all nice and handy.
Transport via the train from/to Britomart was great too...well done! Fan walk was entertaining at times but seemed to be finished early for the end of racing walk back to the station.
All in all; and excellent four days with some great racing and kiwis on the podium!

Spookers is a live entertainment experience in which the victims (you!) move through theatrically themed Haunted Houses, and outdoor environments decorated by sets, props and live scare-actors. As you walk through the attractions you will come across unexpected visual, tactile, and sound effects intended to scare the yell out of you. Are you tired of the mundane? Need some excitement in your life? Spine chilling, blood spilling, thrilling, terrifying horror will grab hold of you from start to finish. From the blood curdling butcher to the so-sad babies and other tortured souls with their voices seeping through the floorboards; just three steps into Spookers Haunted House could have you begging for mercy and sprinting for the door! Disturbia takes 'three dimensional' to another level. Step into the world of blacklight loving freaks! Tight spaces, loud noises and the fast pace will test your limits. Psychedelic clowns take "clowning around" to their irrational happy place. Don't hide, because they'll find you! Giggling, cackling, sending chills through your body. Fear takes over, you can't move. Bright lights, flickering all around you…. walls closing in on you. Disturbia is thoroughly disturbing.
Our daughter and husband took us here for a treat as they know we love scary things. I would recommend going here for a fun and thrilling experience. Its scary but also funny.
We tried two attractions, the House and Freaky Forest. We preferred the house. I do feel that both attractions could have been better by making it more scary. In the house we felt that their were more opportunities for scary additions to the installations and the actors could have been more frequent. There was heaps of areas that this could have been achieved. What was there was great don't get me wrong but we like to be scared and these attractions could have been better by adding just a few more actors. The admission fee should well and truly cover any additional staff as it was on the expensive side. I do appreciate the décor and the costs of installations to achieve the scariness of the installations but again feel that they also had something missing. I would come back and certainly recommend Spookers but I like REAL SCARY!!!! BRING IT ON SCARY FOR NEXT VISIT!!!!

Wrights Watergardens and Water Garden Function Centre is a unique watergarden located 45 minutes south of Auckland city. Features include ponds, Gardens and pathways surround the historic Mauku Waterfall and rock quarry. The beautiful garden is a popular choice for garden visits, weddings, special occasions and celebrations. A garden nursery, café and gift shop are also located onsite.
This garden is about an hour's drive from the centre of Auckland. It mostly features its waterfall, beautiful water plants, and a rusticity that comes with natural Gardens. To a degree, the Gardens are not spotless but more natural and peaceful rather than pristine. They do have, however, many pretty and serene areas to relax in and would be a very pleasant place to have a picnic. There are many picnic tables set up around the garden and it would take about two hours to walk through all the various displays. After our walk through the Gardens we dined at the restaurant which we enjoyed. I had a mango smoothie and a pizza. The waitress was friendly, and attentive and the food was delicious. Recommended.

Auckland based tour company specialising in day and overnight tours to some of our regional highlights within a few hours of Auckland city. Small groups of 2 to 10 travellers and very flexible itineraries to ensure that our visitors have the best possible personalised experiences.
We chose Aotea Roadies because we only had one day in Auckland and the company offered exactly what we required - a whirlwind tour which included close up views of the fantastic gannet colony. We were picked up at our airport hotel by Zana, the...MoreWe are so glad that you enjoyed your day out West with us. We would love to see you again when you are next visiting our corner of the world.

Enjoy an up close experience with a wide variety of exotic and farm animals. Tickle a pig, stroke an emu, feed an alpaca, pat a pony, ride a donkey and go on a trailer ride through a herd of milking cows and visit a traditional kiwi milking shed. This is not an attraction just created for the tourists, this is our home and way of life.
For those who are not from New Zealand (or even more of a townie). This is the place to visit. It is a small family owned farm who open their door to educate and show off their part of New Zealand biggest industries. There are two part to the tour and firstly you get to visit and feed the animals which includes, emu's, pigs, turtles, birds, goats, horses, highland cows, lamas and alpacas. You can even get a short ride on the small horse which my daughter always loves. They then invite you back to the house for a drink of tea/juice and can sit on the decks and sample what living in a kiwi farm house would be like. This would be a must do for those who are not from New Zealand. Then you get taken out on the back of a quad bike to feed the cows and shown what they do to be milked. If you wanted to see this you need to book before hand as it is a working farm, and you get private tours so getting 4 to 1, rather than being in a big group like at some of the other NZ attractions.. Would also be a good time to visit when the young calves are being hand reared, and you get to feed them. For anyone who is not used to the dairy life this the attraction for you as you get to sample the warmth of kiwi family/business life.

If you're a catholic and wanted some solemn place to pray and enjoy nature at the same time, Tyburn Monastery is a must see place. A very quiet place to reflect and say your prayers. They have Sunday morning mass with nuns in the monastery as the choir. You can also bring food for picnic and bond with family. This is mostly visited during Holy Week to observe the Lenten season

Asylum Paintball is New Zealand's Premier Paintball Park. We provide New Zealand's best mix of recreational, tournament, milsim and CQB paintball fields. Our location has both indoor paintball fields and outdoor paintball fields meaning you can play rain or shine. We are also working on making our fields are available for night time paintball. We are also New Zealand's only haunted paintball field! We are a short drive from Auckland's CBD and are accessible via the motorway from the North Shore, Manukau, East Auckland, South Auckland, Pukekohe within 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
What could have been a great staff function and a lot of fun as a total experience was sadly let down by what I would consider basics. The venue in a old Asylum is terrific as it remains I believe as it was, depressing awful if you were a inmate, the equipment was good and a lot of fun was had by all when playing the game . Training and explanation were clear and did not drag on.
The issues were reception did not appear organized, did not have booking clearly identified and what was on offer as extras and costs and calculating what was still due to be paid after a online deposit was not understood and the process drawn out and unwieldy. I do not know what the ladies toilets were like but the men's had not seen a proper clean in weeks I would suggest. The offer was for the use of a Gas BBQ which had not been cleaned as was the area of the BBQ. After a complaint the BBQ was given a good clean and with the my staff we shifted the table and BBQ away to a cleaner environment .As the employer trying to provide my staff with something pleasant I was greatly disappoint to be put in this position.
In addition there were not effort instructors available to have all game areas going as it should , this resulted in our company having to join up with another company or cease playing. I therefore believe the management weak and not paying attention to the requirements of the entertainment and service on offer. It would take little to change this and radically improve this to everyone's benefit. The owners included.

Racking up our balls for the umpteenth time, you can only play pool so many times in one day. The hall were we regularly played was satisfactory, but overused and underdeveloped. The stench of alcohol fused itself with the ‘furniture’, profanity scribbled over the wall, always crowded with the unsavoury types.
“Have you ever played snooker before?” my friend Alby asked me. I was new to pool and only just started playing on a regular basis. Because of my naivety, I thought snooker was just another name for pool. He explained the difference and told us he knew a place where we could play, so we jumped at the opportunity to try something new.
Arriving at the local RSA club, I was sceptical that we would find someplace ‘better’ than the pool hall. Inside was packed, everyone enjoying a beer and retelling stories of the week’s escapades. The pool tables being used and coin operated. I looked towards Alby, questioning his judgement, but he signalled us to come, ushering us into a side room, pushing us into utter darkness.
Suddenly, light. Illumination filled the room and our eyes. Things became clearer as we discovered a contrast to the other side. Emptiness, no one in sight; just the four of us, and four snooker tables in perfect condition. The wooden frame, green felt, 22 balls all glistening in the light, as if they had never been touched. I couldn’t believe that compared to the hustle and bustle of next door, silence, peace and perfection were staring us in the face.
It looked like nobody had been in there for days. Impatience overcame me. I rushed over and picked up the cue, and was pleased that I didn’t need to go through every stick looking for the ‘straightest’ one. I began chalking the tip; blue dust filling the motionless air. We were ready.
Alby ran us through the fundamentals of the game. Snooker isn’t that easy to learn on your own. We played as individuals, as pairs, even used the other tables for practice, never to be disturbed by a living soul, not even once. Silence filled the air only to be broken by the balls hitting against each other, and the prideful taunts when we ‘snookered’ our friend.
I was curious as to why nobody used this place. It was quiet, it was empty and it was free. Alby said that the only reason was nobody knew about it; no one knows what snooker is and no one knows where to play it.
From then on we returned weekly to play snooker, each time finding our surroundings exactly the same as the week before; silence, peace, perfection.
