The three main traila are between Thames, Paeroa, Waihi, Te Aroha. The prettiest is between Paeroa and Waihi, via Waikino, slight uphill, but easily doable by novices like me. Bike hire in all the above places, we based ourselves in Paeroa (Pedlars Motel strongly recommended). As others have said the other flat rides are a not as interesting, other than pretty farm land and fresh/bovine air.

Bullswool Farm is home to three generations of the Austen family. We offer a unique experience of Kiwi rural life, on our beautiful hill farm. Visitors are able to get up close and interact with our many rarebreed animals which include; coloured sheep, miniature horses, donkeys, emu, pigs, chickens, ducks, pheasants, deer, llama, alpaca, miniature cattle and pygmy goats. We take fun very seriously here, and have a very special Play Area, that has been designed to encourage imaginative play!!
All 3 generations thoroughly enjoyed the morning-afternoon visit, though our grandson was totally worn out on the trip home.
From the moment we arrived, there was interaction with the young through to mature animals.
The variety of children's activities was truly wonderful, though I think the pirate ship was a highlight.
After a full on morning, a picnic break in an area conveniently placed gave the kids a chance to rest before venturing forth into bush heritage and history, through the bush walk to the miners campsite.
Nicely set out, and we could see future developments in progress, and I would say each visit we'd see something new and different from this dynamic Enterprise.
Even though it was full on as to all the activities for kids, as adults we equally enjoyed the interaction with the animals and learning of some of some of our history and heritage.
The joys of watching the happiness of the kids relating to the animals and the fun of playing with the activities would be the best thoughts we'd take with us. All in such a quiet and peaceful farm park.

L&P was new to us as this was our first trip to New Zealand. I'm glad we stopped as it does indeed have a place in the cultural history of the country and if you are into "giant things" as I am this is another one to add to your list.
This history about how it came to be is interesting and someone was kind enough to post a photo of the explanatory sign here on TripAdvisor.
I found L&P itself to be vile so just buy a small bottle to try it out. You might like it if you like really sweet drinks.

We were concerned that there may not be anywhere for lunch on our cycle ride between Waihi and Te Aroha. We were pleased to come across The Depot Garden and meet the lovely hosts here. Devonshire tea in a pretty garden never tasted so good! You can have the classic tea and scones with jam and cream or you can opt for combinations on that theme - coffee instead of tea; date or cheese scones in place of plain. Such a tranquil place to stop and smell the roses - or, in this case, the immaculately topiary-ed box hedges!

Electric and Standard Bike Hire, sporting goods, fishing gear.
Awesome day out on an e bike. Paeroa sports world staff were super friendly, helpful and flexible. Responded to a last minute request and more than happy to react to problems. Multiple options for size catering for quite short people. Perfect for beginner or less confident riders and people who would otherwise not ride. The trail was amazing and a must! Bike was well maintained, fully charged and extremely fun to ride! My wife who is normally anti-aging loved it.
