Though Mumbai can feel chaotic and crowded, there are peaceful moments to be found here. Nibble a paper cone of bhelpuri while you stroll the sands of Chowpatty Beach. Then, take a short walk to Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, strategized, and was ultimately arrested. The markets are spirited places to bargain for spices or souvenirs. Take a guided tour of Dharavi – made famous by "Slumdog Millionaire" – for an eye-opening glimpse into what Mumbai life is like for nearly a million people.

Govardhan Ecovillage is a model farm community and retreat center highlighting the importance of spiritual ecology, the need for us to live in harmony with ourselves, nature and the sacred.
I was recently there spending 10 days. It is the best Eco village in all of Asia and won the award from the UN on environmental sound practices. Rooms are very big, clean and exceptionally run. Food is above good, and three meals a day with plenty of choices at each sitting. Buffet style. The Ayuvedic spa with in- house doctors, is excellent and very thorough. Walking through the area is a replica of the old Vrindhavan Gardens with ancient temples made to look like the real ones, very peaceful place with peacocks and a man made river running thru the property. Evening cultural programs every night, even have a hike to the top of the mountain behind the village. A must visit for anyone going to Mumbai area and wants to have a peaceful, yogic style retreat. Daily programs on all area's of India culture are available. Must go and visit this place when in area. About 1.5 hrs drive from Mumbai airport and transpo is available. I will return again next year.

Located in Mumbai’s central area, Prabhadevi, this temple is the most revered Lord Ganesh temple not only of Maharashtra but also of India.
The temple is very impressive, and quite crowded with individuals, families, and groups of people coming to be blessed. I must admit that I tend to suffer in almost 40oC weather, so by taking a VIP package, you are put into a separate queue that gets you to the front faster. No photos are allowed inside the temple, but there is a locker area to leave your camera equipment (and it's attended). To appreciate the architecture, you need to be down the block, as it's hard to see the building when you're actually underneath the awning surrounding it.

This is a bridge which links Mumbai’s suburbs to South Mumbai. It’s a very prestigious bridge which was opened in 2009.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRD) has issued a new circular announcing the increase in toll rates for vehicles passing over the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link better known as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Now vehicle owners using the Sea Link will have to pay ₹ 70 for single trip and ₹ 105 for return trip, seeing a hike of ₹ 10 and ₹ 15 respectively for passenger cars. There is a hike in daily pass rates as well, which is now increased by ₹ 25, bringing it to ₹ 175 instead of the earlier ₹ 150 for a single day. The revised rates will be effective from April 1, 2018

The Temple is one of the most beautiful temples of Lord Krishna in Mumbai.
Moderately priced pure vegetarian buffet lunch with Jain options.
Adequate spread including beverages, starters, main course and up to 7 desserts.
Attentive and courteous service.
However there are no tables for 2 and when it gets busy as it often does, one might have to share the table with other patrons.
Parking for about 20 cars is available on site.

Modeled after the temples of Vrindavan, that were influenced by the architecture of Rajasthan, this epicenter of spiritual activity accommodates over 140 monks and a growing community of 5000. See Indian culture, art, and design at its finest in the form of hand-carved indoor teak-wood balconies, precious stone & marble inlays, large original paintings, and classical dioramas. Stroll around and visit one of Gandhi's places of worship, idyllic temple garden, vegetarian restaurant, gift shop, and Govardhan Eco-village shop. Experience a clean, welcoming, joyful ambiance imbued with constant meditation and prayer. We hope you will feel at home in our simple Krishna temple.

This is a beautiful Roman Catholic Church which is very famous for the week-long Bandra fair which takes place here every year in September.
I went to Mount Mary Church. Mount Mary Church is located on a beautiful hill on the outskirts of Mumbai. It is one of the most well known churches in Mumbai. It was constructed by the Portuguese in 1640 and was later reconstructed in 1761. It is great place to go.

This is one of our regular attractions: early morning walks, evening outing or a late night stroll. the view is scenic , slightly crowded on weekends but quite enjoyable.
If you are a localite or an outsider just do not miss giving Nariman Point a visit. On one end is the Chowpatty beach with all sorts of mouth licking street foods while all the way to the other end is Nariman Point.
Enjoy this place as we do!
