Playa La Caleta Bataan

Playa La Caleta (which means “Beach Cove”) or PLC for short, is an eco-tourism resort with a 100-hectare cove. Located in the municipality of Morong in the province of Bataan, it has a 1-kilometer white sand beach at the front, lush mountain jungle/forest in the middle and 3 Waterfalls at the back. On the left side of the cove is also a 1-hectare islet, called Miguelito Island.

Beautiful beach, clean sea water, white sands, with lots of small different fishes surrounding us while swimming. Quiet place in the morning, beautiful sunrise while kayaking with my friends. I appreciated the staff for accommodating me together with my 6 friends for the reservation Ive made because to some I’ve met, next to our cottage, early bookings is needed, for a lot of people are coming to see and experience the island, they say they’ll be back next month of August 2017 since July 2017 are almost fully booked (cottages, gazebos and tents, hahaha). The staff offered available for rents such as kayak, stand up paddle, salbadiba, snorkel and beach volleyball, lastly pala, we bring our own foods, we did cooking, they have running water, I also see signage’s to maintain the cleanliness of the beach, in which all beach goers needs to follow.
By the way,Ive been visited the island twice, we booked overnight to enjoy the bonfire, and the sounds of the (healthy and big tuko(s) are music to our ears, hahhaha, that was last may 2016 and this june 2017, and we will come back again. Bravo, Playa La Caleta!!

A fitting memorial to the men who gave so much in the defense of the Philippines against Japanese aggression in WWII. Filipino and American service members and civilians are honored here, and in fitting tribute.
Only 30 php entrance fee, which is cheap, and the park is clean and well maintained. It's about 8km to hike the entire park, or can be bicycled.
The Cross is immense and can be seen for miles as you approach the park. I visited in Spetember 2017 and the elevator to the top was being replaced so I could not go up, but I bet the view is stunning for those that can.

Zoobic Safari

Reviewed By Arlene W - Manila, Philippines

My husband and I visited this place after 10 years of going there for our first date, so there had been a lot of changes since then.
I noted that upon entering the zoo itself, we were made to pass by the gift shop. The guide also was too brisk in presenting the animals and that she didn't care if no one was really listening, or if someone has been left behind. She was not observant enough of her guests, even if someone used flash on the reptile exhibit, she was not there to stop that guest. There had been three bathroom breaks, which were, surprise surprise, conveniently near the souvenir kioks and food shops.
There were less animals than I remembered from our first trip, which tells one a lot. The first thing that appalled me were the ligers that they were proud of - they must have paired lions and tigers together in order to breed these. Christian the Cub is one of them, and for everyone who wants to take their picture with him, holding a milk bottle and touching the cub, they must pay a fee even if the staff used the guest's camera. I noticed that the cub was quite hungry as he was trying to get a chance at the baby bottle filled with (guess what?) COW'S MILK. Is that even healthy for ligers, because as far as I know about cats, they're lactose-intolerant! They also must have kept the tigers hungry, too, because if a guest 'wants' to feed the tiger, they must pay Php 200 for a bucket with six pieces of chicken. Jollibee Chickenjoy in a bucket is a better deal than this! And the notice that the cages that they're in were only temporary shelters for them didn't fool me a bit, because the zoo was just too small for them to roam around at all times- just like what Singapore Zoo had for their lions, tigers, and other feline animals, and Singapore Zoo didn't even breed ligers.
Another thing was that section that presented dead, stuffed animals that they must have in the past. I grimaced at the baby animals who were also stuffed and modeled as if they were still playing with the other baby animals and their mums. Argh.
Well, considering that they also own Paradizoo in Tagaytay, it's no surprise that they treat all of their animals in an appalling, dismaying, and disgusting way. Even if that memory of that first date remained precious in me, the animal-lover in me says ENOUGH.
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT ZOOS LIKE THEM.

We visit the center for our first eco volunteering activity, its 2.5 hours travel from Manila to the area. There is briefing and storytelling by Ka Manolo the president of local volunteers. Our first activity is to release hatched pawikan to the seashore,
Coastal clean-UP Drive and Night patrol witness mother pawikan laying Eggs. For accomodation they have available rooms and also they allow to fix tent within the area without fee. They need a support.
Visit and support the pawikan conservation center! Managed by local volunteers and let them inspire you with their story ❤️
Ask me how
Based on the study an average of 90% hatching success and 1% survival rate up to sexual maturity to live. One of the reason they die they feed on the waste like plastic that they thought it is a jellyfish. We dream great Beaches without jellyfish, they are the one who help to balance the ecosystem and for now the great way is to take care to our surroundings especially our oceans as simple as we practice clean as we go.
At the end of the day new generation will follow and will lead to release more of baby sea turtles in the ocean.

This is the nearest Mall to the tourist waterfront and provides most of what one could want from downmarket cheap stalls, to high fashion Brand outlets,an extensive electronics area and a huge food court. No supermarket though - that's a pity.
It is usually quiet in the morning so that's the best time to shop in this Mall - between 10am and 11am. When lunch time approaches the Mall becomes packed with people having lunch and then it stays busy through the afternoon into the evening.
Its well worth a visit and a P80 taxi fare from the Waterfront Tourist area.

Having been taught by Andy was a real good and interesting experience. We became friends over time online and through mutual friends and when I was looking for my side mount certification in August 2012 my choice was simple and easy and I've never looked back, so to say!
The knowledge of Andy and the Delivery are phenomenal, he takes you through all course steps calmly and it all becomes easy. He's patient and he knows all the wrecks in Subic Bay inside out.
Andy went the extra mile, for real. Being a highly educated recreational dive professional myself, I found it refreshing to sit in the 'school banks' again with such an outstanding instructor!
I'm looking forward to more diving and courses with Andy!
