The end of the world is a natural reserve with beautiful Waterfalls and clean waters, ideal place for hiking, walking, swimming and watching native flora and fauna. Welcome to Fin del Mundo
The hike to fin del mundo is a challenging/sweaty hike through jungle vegetation (2hours if you're reasonably fit and don't stop to swim along the way). Along the way there are 3 different Waterfalls and swimming holes that you can stop at to take a rest and a refreshing swim in the cold water. When we did the hike the path was very muddy due to recent rain so keep that in mind and wear proper hiking boots. The first waterfall offers some cliff jumping, which is great fun. The second has three different cascades that are very picturesque. When you reach fin del mundo you will be blown away with how big the drop and how strong the flow of water is. There are plenty of flat rocks to sun bathe on at the top and it makes a perfect place to enjoy a picnic! Definitely a must see while visiting Macoa.

I had a wonderfully refreshing swim in this river just outside the hostel where we were staying after completing the Amazon forest hike to El Fin del Mundo. I haven't enjoyed jumping into a cold river so much in a very long time!

Only some birds macaw toucan papegayo and a jaguar were rescued but will never be released.
Also they have different types of monkeys and seemed stressed also where kept in very small habitats.
One group of monkeys will be released (looked like black spider monkeys)
We try to get some more information but was limited.
One very positive thing... tapirs and they release them in the park not the wild amazon
Its a zoo ... with good intentions.
You get a guide but only opens/start at 10 !!!

The Eye of God is a wonderful waterfall into the Amazon Rainforest. Between High Trees, Crystaline waters and the sounds of native birds and jungle

The climb was very muddy from the previous nights' rainfall (and particularly slippery coming down) but it was enjoyable nonetheless and well worth the effort.
